Abstract

Quick-firing mortar containing firstly a barrel (4) mobile whilst firing in relation to a support (1) and secondly an ammunition cylinder (7) integral translation-wise with the barrel, and containing at least two chambers (8, 10) that can be placed one in firing position (X) and the other in loading position (Z), characterized in that the chambers have means (11a, 11b, 11c) of ensuring their fixity in relation to the support when firing, when placed in at least one position other than firing position.
