Abstract

Windings are in general constructed from copper wires. Because of arrangement difficulties, aluminium windings are used only for large apparatuses, in particular transformers. The arrangement and insulation difficulties are circumvented in the case of the invention in that: 1) The winding is split into several partial windings, which are designed as sandwich windings. The winding material (aluminium) consists of a strip. The insulation can be realised either on the strip (foil) itself, for example by anodising, or by means of layer insulation in the form of an insulating film. 2) The winding ends are led out by means of reversals (folds) of the winding strip in the direction of the coil outlet line or of the next winding.
