Werden Papiergewebe
von Kunstleder u. dgl. inWill paper tissue
of artificial leather and the like in
zwecks Herstellung derselben Weise mitfor the purpose of making the same way with
Nitrocellulose solutions' covered like fabric, so one obtains a finished product of greater rigidity than the difference in the Limited stiffness between uncoated paper and fabric. That extra stiffness is due on the one hand to the fact that the nitrocellulose coating spreads out into the wide spaces in between of the fabric and thereby the movement of the individual threads when they bend inhibits each other, on the other hand, the coating of the porous paper fibers more than is only absorbed superficially, stiffens the threads and blocks their crossing points.
Dieser Vorschlag bezieht sich aufTo prevent the gaps Filling a fabric with coating compound, it has been suggested to do this easily finish. This suggestion relates to
If you transfer this process to paper tissue, you get no usable result due to the much larger mesh size. Weak finish covers the gaps insufficiently, so that
In any case, the finish is also on the fabric and the cover on the finish.
The present process is in contrast to this known process. It is based on the fact that in the interstices of a paper fabric before it is coated with a Nitrocellulose solution is a paste that is made up of a powder and a liquid exists, which has a precipitating effect on the nitrocellulose in larger quantities, while small amounts mix with the nitrocellulose solution without precipitation. The nitrocellulose solution is applied in a known manner to the tissue prepared in this way and dried and the powder that has become dry in the process is removed from the fabric.
Im ersten Fall verbindet sich der Überzug nicht genügend mit den freiliegenden Papierfasern, im zweitenThe powder to be used for the paste can consist of any inert substance. Chalk / kieselguhr, magnesia, magnesium carbonate and the like are suitable. Of great importance but the right choice is the liquid to be processed into a paste with this powder: It must form a paste with the powder, which is easy to spread into the tissue leaves, fills all the gaps there and sticks to the tissue by itself until at least the first spread of nitrocellulose solution is applied. Furthermore, she must Nitrocellulose from its solution where it is after application over the paste filled interstices of the tissue, precipitate in such a way that the solution does not penetrates into the powder. After all, it has to be soaked up by the paper fibers that these are protected from the ingress of solution without the liquid the solution prevents the top fiber layer of the paper tissue from becoming sufficiently associate. These requirements determine the type of liquid to be used, which depends on the composition of the nitrocellulose solution. The liquid must neither Felling too strong or too weak. In the first case, the coating does not bond sufficiently with the exposed paper fibers, in the second
