Um durch Ausübung eines blofsen Druckes die Dicke der Linien nach Belieben verändern zu können, sind die Blätter der Reifsfeder mit dem Schaft drehbar verbunden und können vermittelst einer Blattfeder, welche mit dem Schaft und einem der Blätter verbunden ist, in Bewegung gesetzt werden. Ein an dem Schenkel befestigter Zahnbogen steht ferner mit einem Trieb in Eingriff, dessen Achse mit Gewinde versehen ist, das in einem der Blätter seine Mutter hat.
