Abstract

Improvement in the impregnation process of wood and other materials, with resins. It is already well known that some processes have the purpose of improving the features and the possibilities of use of some materials, based upon impregnation thereof with resins. Said processes generally consist in the introduction of liquid organic monomers into the materials to be treated and the successive polymerization thereof in loco, as to realize a composite material of a better quality. The different stages of said process, i.e.: the degasing of the air, the impregnation by means of the monomers and the successive thermocatalytic polymerization take place in a single, thermically adjustable container, without the need of transferring the material into different devices, reducing the duration of the treatment and making use of a plant which is much simplier in the use.
