Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The invention relates to manufacturing toned photographic papers. To give photographic images a tone that is pleasant to the artistic eye, Processes are generally used that are based on a chemical reaction of the substances forming the image with other substances (Gold, platinum, sulfur, selenium, tellurium toning, etc.).
The cold knowing not of the pictorial substance Covered areas have been sought to mitigate by producing of the photographic paper has used a base paper colored in the mass.
Since the production of such raw papers is only worthwhile in large quantities, and the manufacturers have to limit themselves to the production of a few colors for which sufficient sales can be expected, so is with this process was of little use to the photographer who is concerned with artistic effect. It has now been found that an extremely beautiful tint can be obtained cheaply can be achieved by the back of the photographic paper or the finished picture covered with a luminous layer of paint. The photographer has it it is entirely up to you to choose the color according to the character of the picture; except the colored dyes are also suitable for this purpose, metal powder, such as gold bronze, which one could not use in bulk for dyeing paper. The paint layer is attached directly to the back of the paper. The effect can be enhanced by having the transparency the image base, e.g. B. by treating the paper with a transparent varnish, increased or a particularly translucent base paper used for the photographic paper.
Beispiele. 1. Examples. 1. A ready-to-black developed gas light paper image on a thin and fairly translucent base paper, which can be tinted even slightly in mass, is swept over on its back side with a paint, which are obtained by mixing 100 parts of a 4 percent gelatin solution containing 30 parts of Blanc fixe en päte (barite white paste) and adding 1 part of Mandarin G contains.
A developed paper image is underlaid with a fake, high-gloss gold paper, after the back of the picture has been coated with a quick-drying paste. You can also buy spreads in this way whose own production is difficult or otherwise impractical.
So widersteht die Farbschicht dem Einfluß der photographischen Bäder, ohne beschädigt zu werden oder selbst zu schaden.3. 90 gram white photo base paper is made on the back by means of the baryta machine coated with a mass that consists of: 100 parts of a 5 percent glue solution, 10 parts of Blanc fixe en päte (barite white paste) and 10 parts of Helioechtrotlack together with 5 parts Helio real yellow black. The line is hardened with a 1:10 chrome alum solution. A 4 percent, strongly hardened gelatin solution is applied as a protective layer on the paint line applied. The color layer withstands the influence of the photographic baths without being damaged or itself to harm.
