Abstract

The finger-print is applied to the sloping face of a prism. The finger-print is projected optically through a reference finger-print (1) on a transparent plate. The comparator can be used for comparing a finger-print on a security card with the user's actual finger-print in order to gain access to a building. The comparator can also be used to compare patterns other than finger-prints.
