Description
Im Hauptpatent 301682 ist ein Verfahren zur Gewinnung von Schwefel aus Calciumsulfat beschrieben, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man die durch seine Zersetzung gewonnenen schweflige Säure enthaltenden Gase unter Zufügung von Kohlenoxyd oder dieses enthaltenden Gasen mit glühendem Koks, Kohle usw. zusammenbringt. Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man dieses Verfahren, zweckmäßig dahin ausgestalten kann, -daß in den die Kohle bzw. den Koks enthaltenden Reduktionsraum statt kohlenoxydhaltiger Gase oder außer diesen Sauerstoff bzw. Luft eingeführt wird. Auf diese Weise wird einerseits die etwa fehlende Wärme durch Verbrennung eines Teils der Kohle erzeugt, andererseits entsteht im Schacht Kohlenoxyd, so daß auf die besondere Einführung kohlenoxydhaltiger Gase von außen leicht völlig verzichtet werden kann. Für genügenden Ersatz des im Reduktionsraume verbrauchten Kokses usw. wird durch Aufgabe von frischem Koks am oberen Ende des Schachtes Sorge getragen. Gleichbedeutend mit der besonderen Einleitung der Luft in den Reduktionsraum oder vor diesem ist es, wenn man durch dauernde Einleitung eines grpßeren Luftüberschuäses in die Feuerung dafür sorgt, daß der zu verwendende Sauerstoff bereits in den die. schweflige Säure enthaltenden Gasen von ihrer Entstehung her in erforderlicher Menge (z.
