ι Der die Typen ι und 2 tragende Typenhebel 3 der Schreibmaschine I schwingt um den Zapfen 4 und wird an der Verlängerung 5 vom Haken 6 des um den Bolzen 7 drehbaren Winkelhebels 8 erfaßt, dessen Taste 9 als Magnetanker 10 in die Spule 11 des Elektromagneten 12 eingreift. Jeder Tastenanschlag drückt einerseits die betreffende Type 1 oder 2 durch das Farbband 13 auf das von der Schreibwalze 14 gehaltene Papier 15 ab und erzeugt anderseits in der von der Batterie 16 schwach erregten Magnetspule 11 einen starken Induktionsstrom, weil der dem Magnetpol 17 genäherte Anker 10 den magnetischen Widerstand verkleinert und die Zahl der magnetischen Kraftlinien vergrößert. Diese von der Kraftlinienvermehrung bewirkte elektromotorische Gegenkraft erzeugt einen Strom, der sich vom Verbindungsdraht 18 über die Fernleitung 19 und Draht 20 auf die Spule 21 des Elektromagneten 22 der Schreibmaschine II fortpflanzt und durch den Magnetpol 23 den Anker 24 und die Taste 25 des um den Bolzen 26 drehbaren Winkelhebels 27 anzieht. Der Haken 28 umfaßt die Verlängerung 29 des um den Zapfen 30 schwingenden Typenhebels 31 und drückt eine der Typen 32 oder 33 mittels des Farbbandes 34 auf das von der Schreibwalze 35 gehaltene Papier 36 ab. Der Strom läuft durch die negative Leitung 37 zum Minuspol zurück. Die Zahl der in der Fernleitung vorhandenen, isolierten Einzeldrähte richtet sich nach der Typenhebelzahl und nach den verschiedenen Funktionen, die übertragen werden sollen. Die Rückleitung kann aus einem gemeinsamen Draht bestehen oder, unter Einschaltung von Erdplatten, durch die Erde gebildet werden.
