Zur Vervollständigung luft- und wasserdampfdurchlässiger aktivkohlehaltiger ABC-Schutzanzüge, werden daher zum Schutz der Hände und Unterarme vor dem Einfluss der Kampf- und Giftstoffe bisher gummierte Schutzhandschuhe eingesetzt. Diese gummierten Schutzhandschuhe bieten zwar einen optimalen Schutz gegen ABC-Kampfstoffe und dergleichen, können aber wegen der mangelnden Atmungsfähigkeit in warmen tropischen Gebieten nicht verwendet werden.
