Description
Dieser Begriff "Kartoffelschnaps" soll auch im Zusammenhang mit der folgenden Beschreibung des neuartigen Gefäßes beibehalten werden, denn das Gefäß weist, wie noch darzulegen ist, außer bestimmten technischen Merkmalen eine gewisse rustikale Gestaltung aufThe invention relates to a drinking vessel which is intended exclusively for the enjoyment of a special spirit, namely a spirit made from potatoes, which is popularly known as potato schnapps. This term "potato schnapps" should also be retained in connection with the following description of the new type of vessel, because the vessel has, as will be explained later, in addition to certain technical features, a certain rustic design.
It is common to refine the taste of certain drinks before serving them, or to leave the addition of certain substances at the table or on any occasion to individual taste. In the case of alcoholic mixed drinks, the term itself indicates that fruit, for example, is added to the basic substance, an alcoholic drink. Sometimes the mixed drink served in a drinking vessel is visually and (in our opinion) also taste-wise enhanced by dipping the glass upside down with the wet rim into a layer of sugar before filling it. Depending on the atmosphere - more festive, more plain and simple - you can adapt the drink itself, modify it and use the appropriate drinking vessels to suit the circumstances. In general, good sparkling wine is drunk from a well-shaped glass, while a small ceramic vessel is often used for a herbal liqueur, for example. According to the applicant for the utility model, when enjoying potato schnapps it has been usual to use smaller glasses or ceramic vessels in the usual shape. Since potato schnapps has a typical taste, one would hardly want to change this taste, otherwise one could have chosen a different spirit.
However, it has been shown that it is possible for potato schnapps to develop the mild, harmonious taste of potatoes more than was previously known if certain conditions are observed.
Therefore, the object of the invention is to propose special measures for taste refinement in the above-mentioned sense. The starting point for this taste refinement should be a new type of drinking vessel which, through the type of production and its material, achieves the new effect, the development of a particularly harmonious taste, when used, i.e. by filling it with potato schnapps.
According to the invention, the problem is solved as follows, with reference to claim 1 for the basic inventive idea. The further development of the invention results from claim 2.
Zur Erfindung sollen weitere Ausfuhrungen gemacht werden.Further details will be given regarding the invention.
Diese Tatsache läßt sich wie folgt begründen:As already mentioned, the taste is intended to be refined when enjoying potato schnapps. To do this, the potato schnapps is poured into frosted vessels or mugs before serving. The difference in temperature causes the spirit to develop its mild, harmonious potato flavor. This fact can be explained as follows:
An important carbohydrate found in potatoes is known to be starch
Hj&ogr; O5) n, which is produced by the plant's assimilation process from the carbon dioxide in the air and water with the help of the chlorophyll and light and is deposited in the potato tubers in the form of microscopically small bodies. Enzymes can break down the starch molecules and convert them to glucose eegr; C5 H^ O5 by absorbing water. When potatoes are stored, the potato's own enzymes and the water in the tuber slowly break down the starch so that glucose (sugar) is produced. This glucose is "breathed away" during storage. When the new drinking vessel is frozen, the enzymes convert starch to a certain extent into glucose, which is not consumed. This is why frozen potatoes taste sweet. If potato schnapps is now poured into the pre-treated drinking vessels, the temperature difference causes a heat exchange on the inside of the vessels. The previous thermal treatment of the potato cup gives the potato schnapps its mild, harmonious potato flavor. It should also be pointed out that once the schnapps has been poured, it should be enjoyed immediately.
The invention will now be explained using an exemplary embodiment.

The vessel 1 is hollowed out using a spoon. The drinking vessel cavity is marked with the reference number 2. The drinking vessel base 3 is created by cutting it flat (in the form of a dome) opposite the drinking vessel edge 4. The thermal treatment is carried out by storing the drinking vessel preferably for 3 to 4 hours at -10° C to -12° C before use.
With a frozen drinking vessel made from a potato, a new and original vessel is available, which, through thermal effects, enables a new effect compared to the usual enjoyment of potato schnapps in the traditional sense.
