Die Erfindung betrifft einen schallabsorbierenden Schaumstoff-Formkörper auf Basis eines offenzelligen Schaumkunststoffs. The invention relates to a sound-absorbing foam molded body based on an open-cell foam plastic.
Open-cell foam plastics based on polyurethanes and melamine/formaldehyde condensation resins are ideal as sound absorption materials and are increasingly being used in many technical applications. However, these foams naturally also have some disadvantages, for example they absorb a relatively high amount of water. In some applications, the possibility of bacterial contamination is also a problem.
Der Erfindung lag daher die Aufgabe zugrunde, diese Nachteile zu überwinden. The invention was therefore based on the object of overcoming these disadvantages.
Dies wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch erreicht, daß der offenzellige Schaumkunststoff mit einem Polyolefin-Partikelschaumstoff kombiniert wird. Letzterer hat den Vorteil, daß er zähelastisch ist und dadurch auf einfache Weise mit dem Weichschaum zusammengeführt oder verklebt werden kann. This is achieved according to the invention by combining the open-cell foam plastic with a polyolefin particle foam. The latter has the advantage that it is tough and elastic and can therefore be easily combined or glued to the soft foam.
The open-cell foam is preferably a flexible polyurethane foam, but in particular a foamed melamine/formaldehyde condensation product, as described, for example, in EP-B 17 672. A corresponding commercial product is BASOTECT from BASF AG. The density of this foam is generally between 10 and 50 kg · irr 3 . In the composite according to the invention, the sound-absorbing foam is present as a 1 to 10 cm thick plate or as a molded part which has been cut out of a thick block.
Polyethylene and especially polypropylene foams are particularly suitable as polyolefin particle foams. These are produced by welding foam particles in automatic molding machines using steam. This produces foam moldings of any shape, which generally have a density of 15 to 100 kg · rrr 3. In this case, the moldings also have a thickness of 1 to 10 cm.
Zur Herstellung des erfindungsgemäßen Schallschlucksystems klebt man zweckmäßigerweise die Weichschaumplatte auf das Partikelschaum-Formteil, z. B. mit Hilfe von Klebern auf Basis von Po-To produce the sound absorption system according to the invention, the soft foam plate is advantageously glued to the particle foam molding, e.g. using adhesives based on poly-

' lychlorbutadien. Man kann aber die beiden Komponenten auch unter Nutzung der Zähelastizität des Partikelschaum-Formteils durch Kraftschluß miteinander verbinden, indem man beispielsweise die Weichschaumplatte an ein Partikelschaum-Formteil klemmt oder mittels hinterschnittener Partikelschaum-Formteilkonturen oder flexibler Partikelschaum-Formteilfixierungselemente befestigt.' lychlorobutadiene. However, the two components can also be connected to one another by force-locking using the tough elasticity of the particle foam molding, for example by clamping the soft foam plate to a particle foam molding or by fastening it using undercut particle foam molding contours or flexible particle foam molding fixing elements.
Die erfindungsgemäßen schallabsorbierenden Schaumstoff-Formkörper können im Bausektor als Automobilteile oder als Maschinenbaukomponenten verwendet werden. Ein besonders interessantes Anwendungsbeispiel sind Kraftfahrzeug-Klimaanlagengehäuse.The sound-absorbing foam moldings according to the invention can be used in the construction sector as automotive parts or as mechanical engineering components. A particularly interesting application example is motor vehicle air conditioning housings.
