Bisher ist es üblich, ein mineralisches Adsorbens für Katzenstreu zu verwenden, insbesondere Sepiolith oder Meerschaum, welches die Fähigkeit hat, ein Mehrfaches seines Gewichtes an Wasser oder anderen Flüssigkeiten aufnehmen zu können.
