Die in beiliegender Zeichnung für ein Taschenmesser verwendete Armatur für Schneidewerkzeuge besteht aus zwei Schalen A und B, welche um das Scharnier c gegen einander drehbar gemacht werden; zwischen den Schalen ist das um das Scharnier α herausdrehbare Schneidewerkzeug b enthalten. In geschlossenem Zustande sieht man keinerlei vorspringende Theile, da das Werkzeug b von den Schalen A und B einerseits, von dem an der „Schale A angebrachten Rücken d und dem an B befestigten Rücken e andererseits eingeschlossen ist. Der Verschlufs wird durch die Schildplatte s, welche mit dem Schieber m fest verbunden ist, in der Weise bewerkstelligt, dafs beim Oeffhen des Werkzeuges die Schildplatte s erst in der Richtung des Pfeiles herabgeschoben werden mufs, wodurch der Schieber m aus der die Auflage für die Schale B an der Schale A bildenden Nuth η heraustritt und die Schalen an einander vorbeidrehen läfst. Nun wird das Schneidewerkzeug herausgedreht, die Schale B wieder zurückgebracht und der Schieber m wieder in die Nuth n, mit anderen Worten, die Schildplatte s wieder zurückgeschoben, wodurch nicht nur die Armatur wieder geschlossen, sondern die Klinge b am selbstthätigen Umschnappen gehindert ist.
