Product carriers for sales displays

The innovation relates to a product carrier in the form of trays or bins made of cardboard or similar materials, which can be placed on a base filled with goods and are formed as folding elements from interconnected wall sections for shipping.

Product carriers of this type are well known and are currently made of corrugated cardboard for heavier goods such as cream or perfume due to the required stability, onto which a printed sheet of cardboard is laminated for optical reasons.

The known product carriers have the disadvantage that two materials are required and an additional production step has to be carried out.

This makes production more expensive. In addition, the materials have to be disposed of after they have been sold, which also causes costs.

The aim of the innovation is to achieve the stability of a product carrier in the most cost-effective way possible by saving materials during manufacture and disposal as well as by saving labor during production, while ensuring a good visual impression.

The solution to the problem is achieved in accordance with the innovation that the floor is formed by an additional parallel floor element made of corrugated cardboard.

This ensures that the stability of the goods carrier is achieved even with heavier goods via the corrugated cardboard insert in the base, as a double floor. A significant saving in material is achieved compared to the previously known solutions in the form of corrugated cardboard with cardboard laminated on top, without affecting the visual appearance.

To further improve the stabilizing effect, it is proposed that at least one tab is formed which is connected to the inserted floor element via a groove line and which can be connected to a wall part by being folded in.

Furthermore, in order to exclude errors when assembling the entire product carrier, it is provided that the inserted base element and/or the connected tab can be connected, such as glued, to the associated area.

The drawing shows a schematic example of the innovation. It shows:

The tray T shown as a product carrier consists of a base 1 and adjoining wall parts, which are formed as an extension of the base 1 via groove lines 2, 3 by an outward-facing part 4 and an inward-facing part 5 as the front. Two side parts are also formed via groove lines, each consisting of an outward-facing part 6 and an inward-facing part 7. A rear side is formed from an outward-facing part 8 and an inward-facing part 9. These parts are

made of cardboard. A base element 10 made of corrugated cardboard is arranged parallel to the base 1 and is extended by a flap 11. This flap 11 is folded over by both parts 4, 5 of the front edge of the tray made of cardboard. A crowner C made of cardboard is attached to the back 8.
