Description
Beschreibung (Blatt 1)Description (Sheet 1)
"Handy mit gerichteter Sendeantenne""Mobile phone with directional transmitting antenna"
The invention relates to a transmitting and receiving antenna for mobile telephones. The antenna is to be modified in such a way that the power of the electromagnetic wave emitted in the direction of the head, which is in the microwave range, is reduced by 10-20 dB and that the limit values for the emission of electromagnetic radiation for electrical devices, which are 10-25 mWatt in this range, are thus complied with.
This takes into account the discussion about possible effects of microwaves emitted by cell phones. If the limits are complied with, no further effects are expected, as the dimensioning of the power limits is based on the nerve currents of the human body.
High-frequency electromagnetic waves can only be shielded to a very limited extent by apertures in this frequency range, since a conductive aperture usually resonates.
It is therefore suggested that the wave should be absorbed for the most part. This is done by charge carriers, primarily electrons, undergoing damped resonance oscillations in the direction of the antenna. Damping is achieved in conductors by using ohmic resistances or by isolating the material from the actual transmitting antenna and switching it to a receiving antenna, which feeds the transmitted energy back into the battery. If metals are used, non-ferromagnetic materials do not lead to scattering losses of the emitted wave.
Another embodiment of the invention also uses the polarization of the emitted electromagnetic wave in the plane determined by the antenna direction and the propagation direction: Polarization filters contain linear conduction bands in which charge carriers almost completely absorb the incident polarized wave when aligned in the antenna direction.
Other polarizers, such as feldspar crystals (Nicol prism) use resonance effects of atoms to totally reflect the wave.
Beschreibung (Blatt 2)Description (Sheet 2)
In Figure 1 we see the antenna dipole (1) as well as one of the materials described above (2), which can be separated from (1) by an insulation layer (3).
In Figure 2 we can see the antenna dipole (1) and one of the materials (2), which is attached spherically to the antenna in the direction of the mobile phone user's head. Here (2) is shown in the form of a film. In the case of a polarization film according to claim 7, such an arrangement is appropriate. The polarization direction is the antenna direction.
In Figure 3 we can see the top view of the antenna dipole (1), which is separated from the absorption material (2), which in this case is electrically conductive, by an insulator (3) and is also connected to (1) via an ohmic impedance R.
