Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Buchhalter für nach vorn geneigte Bücher und Hefte, bei dem die seitlichen Klemmen aus einem vorderen Anschlage und einem hinteren, nachgiebig nach vorn gegen den vorderen Anschlag gedrückten Teile bestehen. Das Neue besteht darin, daß jeder der beiden hinteren, nach vorn gedrückten Teile aus einer um eine aufrecht stehende Achse drehbaren Platte besteht, wobei die Drehachse der Platten in der Nähe des Rückens des aufgeschlagenen Buches liegt.
