Drawer

The invention relates to a drawer of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.

A drawer of this type is shown, for example, in EP-OS 474 966, in which the metal profile that forms the respective longitudinal wall is single-walled and, in addition to the upper leg and the foot leg, has another lower leg at the lower edge, which follows at a distance below the foot leg. The foot leg is designed as a harpoon bar and its cross-section is dimensioned such that it completely fills the respective longitudinal groove in the base plate and engages in it in a clamping manner, while the lower leg grips the base plate from below and the upper leg rests on the top of the base plate. Such a connection between the respective longitudinal wall and the base plate leaves much to be desired due to the only limited strength, especially considering the fact that the longitudinal groove of the base plate has tolerances.

The invention is based on the object of creating a drawer of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1,

in which a reliable, firm connection between the base plate and the longitudinal walls is achieved using simple means, thus ensuring great strength of the drawer as a whole.

The object is achieved in a drawer of the type mentioned at the beginning according to the invention by the features in the characterizing part of claim 1. Because the foot leg of the longitudinal wall together with the foot web of the insert part are pressed into the respective longitudinal groove of the base plate, a firm connection is achieved between the base plate and the longitudinal walls. Due to this firm connection, the drawer as a whole has good rigidity and strength.

Further advantageous features and embodiments of the invention are set out in claims 2 to 11. Due to the inclination of the upper leg of each longitudinal wall and thus a certain conicity of the approximately U-shaped receptacle at the lower edge of each longitudinal wall, a more or less strong pressure can be exerted on the base plate via this upper leg, which rests on the top of the base plate, depending on the tolerances of the longitudinal grooves of the base plate, and thus a firm clamping effect on the base plate section, which is clamped between the upper leg and the foot leg of each longitudinal wall, whereby this clamping effect is further increased by the foot web of the insert part, which is also pressed into the longitudinal groove. Due to the inclination of the upper leg of each longitudinal wall, any tolerances with regard to the longitudinal groove of the base plate can thus be taken into account.

Further advantageous features and embodiments of the invention are evident from claims 12 to 2g. The features in claim 13 result in the advantage that for the right longitudinal wall and for the left longitudinal wall one and

the same sheet metal profile can be used, so that effort and costs are significantly reduced. Furthermore, the respective sheet metal profile is simple and inexpensive to design and also lightweight, which also advantageously reduces the overall weight of the drawer. The features in claim 14 ensure that one and the same insert part can be used for the left and right long walls. This also reduces effort and costs. When the insert part is designed as a plastic molded part, only a single mold is required to produce the insert part. The features in claim 16 make it easy to adjust the fastening of a front panel. Furthermore, cover elements, e.g. made of plastic, can be attached to the back in a simple manner, using the same fastening principle as front panel fastening fittings, whereby the long walls can be closed at the back using these plastic cover elements. The respective cover elements can also be used to attach the rear wall, which can thus be easily attached to the longitudinal walls on both sides. The drawer according to the invention is overall simple, inexpensive and relatively lightweight, while at the same time ensuring great strength. Only a few different components are required, which further reduces effort and costs. It goes without saying that drawers of different lengths and/or widths can be designed in this way in a simple and cost-effective manner. Since the metal profiles of each longitudinal wall are not welded constructions but longitudinal profiles made solely by bending, different desired lengths of the longitudinal walls and thus depths of the drawers can be achieved in a simple manner by cutting these metal profiles to length.

The drawings show a drawer 10 which is composed or can be composed of a sheet metal frame, in particular of sheet steel, with an additional base plate 11. The base plate 11 consists, for example, of a chipboard.

It has longitudinal grooves 12, 13 that are open to the side on both long sides. The long walls 14 and 15 on both sides and the rear wall 16 of the drawer 10 are each made of a metal profile. This metal profile is preferably bent from a single sheet metal part, without additional sheet metal parts or the like having to be welded on. A schematically indicated front panel 17 can be attached to the front of the drawer 10 in a detachable and adjustable manner.

As can be seen in particular from Fig. 2 and 4, the metal profiles that form the longitudinal wall 14 and 15 have a foot leg 19 on the lower edge 18 associated with the base plate 11 and, at a distance above this foot leg 19, an upper leg 20 that is approximately parallel to it. Between the foot leg 19 and the upper leg there runs an approximately vertically directed base part 21, which together with the foot leg 19 and the upper leg forms an approximately U-shaped, groove-shaped receptacle 22 that is open to the side.

When assembling the drawer 10, in particular when assembling the longitudinal walls 14, 15 with the base plate 11, the foot leg 19 engages in the respective longitudinal groove 12 or 13 of the base plate 11, while the respective upper leg 20 rests on the upper side 23 of the base plate 11.

As can be seen, each longitudinal wall 14 and 15 is designed as a hollow profile that is open at the bottom and has an inner wall and an outer wall 25 that runs at a distance from it, which are connected to one another at the upper edge 26 to form a one-piece structure. The lower edge 18 is an integral part of the inner wall 24. As can be seen in particular in Fig. 4, the upper leg 20 of each longitudinal wall 14, 15 runs at an angle towards the base leg 19. The angle of inclination is, for example, approximately between 3° and 6°. It is, for example, 5°. The upper leg 20 is formed by two sheet metal layers running one above the other, e.g. by a standing seam.

Both longitudinal walls 14, 15 are each made of the same sheet metal profile, which can be used as either the left or right longitudinal wall 14 or 15 as required. This means that only a single sheet metal profile is required to form the longitudinal walls 14, 15.

An insert part 30 is inserted into the respective cavity of the double-walled longitudinal wall 14, 15, which preferably consists of a one-piece plastic molded part. This insert part 30 is also designed in such a way that it can be used either for insertion into the cavity of the left longitudinal wall 15 or, turned around accordingly, for insertion into the cavity of the right longitudinal wall 15. As a result, only a single type of insert part 30 is required and thus only one tool is required to produce it, e.g. as a plastic injection molded part.

As shown in Fig. 2, a drawer-side guide part can be mounted on the insert part 30, specifically on its underside, whereby this guide part 31 can be of various types depending on the guides used.

The insert part 30 has at least one approximately horizontal foot web 32, which rests from below on the underside of the foot leg 19 of the respective longitudinal wall 14, 15 when the drawer 10 is assembled. When the longitudinal walls 14, 15 are assembled with the base plate 11, the foot leg 19 and the foot web 32 on each long side are pressed together into the associated longitudinal groove 12 or 13 of the base plate 11. The foot leg 19 and the foot web 32 together have a cross-sectional dimension that at least approximately corresponds to the cross-section of the respective longitudinal groove 12, 13. Because the foot legs 19 and the foot web 32 are pressed together into the respective longitudinal groove 12, 13 during assembly, a firm connection is produced between the base plate 11 and the longitudinal walls 14, 15 , and this with simple means. The connection gives the drawer 10 a high degree of strength.

The at least one foot web 32 of the insert part 30 has longitudinal ribs at least on its underside, whereby this foot web 32 has the shape of a so-called harpoon web at least on the underside.

The insert part 50 has at least one edge strip 34 extending from the foot web 32 and projecting downwards approximately in a vertical direction. In the assembled state of the drawer 10, this edge strip 34 can rest against the facing outer surface of the base plate 11 and provide additional support there, for example.

The foot web 32 can be designed as a rib running along the length of the insert part. Instead, as is the case in the embodiment shown, several individual foot webs 32 can be provided at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the insert part 30.

This saves material and makes it easier to form the insert part 30. The design of the at least one edge strip can also be chosen in an analogous manner. In one embodiment, the edge strip 34 consists of a part that runs the entire length of the insert part 30. Instead, as is the case in the embodiment shown, several individual edge strips 34 can be provided, which follow one another at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the insert part 30.

The at least one foot web 32 and/or the at least one edge strip 34 are integral with the insert part 30, in particular molded onto it. The insert part 30 is designed as a one-piece plastic molded part. The insert part 30 is designed in such a way that it can be used equally as a left or right insert part, inserted into the longitudinal wall 14 or into the longitudinal wall 15.

As can be seen in particular from Fig. 5, the insert part 30 has a receptacle 35, which corresponds approximately to a horizontal window, and is designed as an insertion opening, both at the front end area, which is assigned to the front panel 17, and at the rear end area, which is assigned to the rear wall 16. Adjacent to the receptacle 35 there is a bearing 36 for the use of a rotatable eccentric 37.

The insert part 30 has approximately horizontal support webs running transversely between the inner wall 24 and the outer wall 25 of each longitudinal wall 14, 15, both of which support each other.

38 and on the side adjacent to the inner wall 24 approximately vertical wall parts 39, which can rest against the inner wall 24 inside the cavity.

Above the at least one foot web 32, the insert part 30 is provided with a flat wall section or instead with a wall section 40 designed as a box profile, with which the insert part 30 can rest from the outside on the approximately vertically running base part 21 of each longitudinal wall 14, 15. The approximately box-shaped wall section 40 is present at least where the insert part has a foot web 32, _whereby this box-shaped wall section 40 is formed, for example, by an upper rib 41 and by vertical ribs 42 which start from the upper rib and lead to the foot web 32, whereby these vertical ribs 42 are provided at intervals from one another as seen in the longitudinal direction of the insert part. The wall section 40 designed in this way leads to a stiffening and ensures a firm hold when the foot leg 19 is pressed together with the foot web 32 into the respective longitudinal groove 12, 13 of the base plate 11, wherein the wall section 40 limits the depth of engagement in the longitudinal groove 12, 13 by resting on the base part 21, just as the at least one edge strip 34 can also bring about such a limitation.

As can be seen in particular from Fig. 2, in the assembled state of the drawer 10, a longitudinal edge-side base plate section 27 of the base plate 11 can be received in the approximately U-shaped receptacle 22 of the respective lower edge 18, namely the base plate section 27 which extends above the respective longitudinal groove 12, 13.

For fastening the front panel 17, a front panel fastening fitting 50 is used for each longitudinal wall 14, 15, which

on the one hand, it is firmly attached to the front panel 17 and with a hook leg 51 engages positively from above into the receptacle of the insert part 30 on each longitudinal wall 14, 15. After the front panel 17 has been adjusted accordingly in terms of height and side, the rotatable eccentric 37, which is inserted into the bearing 36 of the insert part 30 on each longitudinal edge 14, 15, then fixes the latter in place by clamping the hook leg 51 using movable wall parts 52 of the insert part 30. The eccentrics 37 can be grasped through openings 28 in the outer wall 25 of each longitudinal wall 14, 15 using a tool, e.g. a screwdriver, for adjustment and locking purposes.

A cover element 53, 54, made in particular of plastic, is used to close the hollow profile of each longitudinal wall 14, 15 at the rear. Each cover element 53 has a hook leg 55 or 56, which can engage in a form-fitting manner in the receptacle 35 of the insert part 30 in a similar way to the hook leg 51 of the front panel fastening fitting and can be clamped in place by means of the respective eccentric 37 and the wall parts 52. Each cover element 53, 54 also serves to fix the rear wall 16. The latter is made of a single-walled metal profile and has a groove 58 on the lower edge 57, which essentially corresponds to the cross-sectional thickness of the base plate 11 and in which the base plate 11 is held with its facing rear edge area. The groove 58 is formed from two foot strips 59 and 60 which are integral with the metal profile and are approximately parallel to one another, of which the upper foot strip 59 rests on the upper side 23 and the lower foot strip 60 rests on the underside of the base plate 11. The base plate 11 is thus received in the groove 58 at least essentially snugly and without play.

The rear wall 16 has at the right and left end areas and in the respective area of each longitudinal wall 14, 15 a e.g.

as a vertical slot. During assembly, the opening 61 can be penetrated by a through-passage part 63 of the cover element 53, to which the hook leg 55 is connected. The other opening 62 can be penetrated in an analogous manner by a through-passage part 64 of the other cover element 54, to which the hook leg 56 is connected. The respective through-passage part 63, 64 can be designed in the shape of a sword. The height of the respective opening 61, 62 corresponds to the height of the hook leg 55 or 56, so that when the rear wall 16 is attached using the cover elements 53, 54, the hook leg 55 or 56 can first reach through the opening 61 or 62 and then each cover element 53, 54 is moved downwards so that the respective hook leg 55, 56 can engage in a form-fitting manner in the respective receptacle 35 of the insert part 30. When attaching the rear wall 16, the latter is attached first, with the cover elements 53, 54 then being attached to it.

Expectations Drawer with longitudinal walls (14, 15) made of metal profiles, which have a foot leg (19) on the lower edge (18) engaging in a laterally open longitudinal groove (12, 13) of a base plate (11) and, at a distance above this (19), an upper leg (20) which is at least approximately parallel to the foot leg (19) and rests on the upper side (23) of the base plate (11), characterized in that each longitudinal wall (14, 15) is designed as a hollow profile open at the bottom, that an insert part (30) is inserted into the cavity of the longitudinal wall (14, 15), on which a drawer-side guide part (31) can be held, and that the insert part (30) has at least one approximately horizontal foot web (32) resting from below on the underside of the foot leg (19) of the longitudinal wall (14, 15), which together with the foot leg (19) has a cross-sectional dimension approximately corresponding to the groove cross-section of the longitudinal groove (12, 13) in the base plate (11) and is pressed into the longitudinal groove (12, 13). _2_ 2.
