Folding box part made from a one-piece cardboard blank

The present invention relates to a folding box part made from a one-piece cardboard blank with a polygonal base and with double-layered side walls.

Folding box parts of the aforementioned type, which can be used both as a folding box and as a lid for a folding box, are known per se. Up to now, the side walls have been formed by simply folding the corresponding cut parts and by gluing the material layers together so that they lie flat on top of one another.

Due to the natural inherent stress of the cardboard, folding box parts manufactured in this way tend to bulge in the sidewall area, so that the actually specified polygonal basic shape is not exactly maintained.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the side walls are formed in their upper end region facing away from the base area with a reinforcing edge made of the side wall material folded inwards.

. A reinforcing edge made from the material of the side walls stiffens and stabilizes the side walls in such a way that bulging practically no longer occurs. The enormous reinforcement and stabilization of the side walls achieved has the additional advantage that comparatively light cardboard material can be used to produce a folding box part, without this leading to a reduction in the load-bearing capacity of the folding box part.

Further features of the invention are the subject of subclaims.

The side walls 5 and 6 are equipped in their upper end areas facing away from the base area 2 with a reinforcing edge 14 formed from the inwardly folded side wall material 13. The reinforcing edge 14 is advantageously designed as a hollow chamber and has a triangular cross-section, but can also have a semicircular or

In the embodiment example according to Figures 1 - 3, the reinforcing edge 14 is directly connected to the upper end region 16 of the side walls 5 and 6.

Figure 3 shows that the triangular cross-section of this reinforcing edge has the shape of a right-angled triangle; the reinforcing edge 14 in the embodiment according to Figure 4 has a corresponding cross-section, whereby this reinforcing edge 14 is set back from the upper end region 16 of the side walls 5 or 6 in the braiding of the base area 12.

In Figure 5, the triangular cross-section of the reinforcing edge 14 is designed as an acute-angled triangle, but according to Figure 6, the reinforcing edge 14 can also have the shape of an obtuse-angled triangle.

In any case, the hollow chamber-like reinforcing edge 14 stabilizes and strengthens the folding box part 1 as a whole in such a way that bulging of the

Protection claims 1. A folding box part made from a one-piece cardboard blank with a polygonal base and with double-layered side walls, characterized in that the side walls (5, 6) are provided in their upper end region remote from the base (12) with a . are equipped with a reinforcing edge (14) formed by the inside folded side wall material (13) ; 2. Folding boxes according to claim 1, characterized in that the reinforcing edge (14) is designed like a hollow chamber. 3. Folding box according to claim 2, characterized in that the square section of the hollow chamber-like reinforcing edge (14) is triangular. 4. Folding box part according to claim 2, characterized in that the cross section of the hollow chamber-like reinforcing edge (14) is segment-shaped or semicircular. 5.. Folding shaft part according to claim, characterized in that the triangular cross section of the reinforcing edge (14) has the shape of a right-angled, acute-angled or obtuse-angled triangle. 6. Folding box part according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the reinforcing edge (14) is arranged directly at the upper end region (16) of the side walls (5, 6).
