Darüberhinaus verursacht die Hubbewegung des aus Ventilstempel und Verschlußstück bestehenden Systems Vibrationen, da dieses System entweder auf den Ventilsitz oder gegen einen Hubbegrenzer anschlägt. Diese Vibrationen beeinträchtigen die Lebensdauer des gesamten Ventils, vor allem aber die Lebensdauer des bei Vakuumventilen in der Regel vorhandenen Metallbalges.When a valve is opened that separates two spaces with different pressures, a more or less strong gas flow is created for a short time, depending on the pressure difference. Erfindungsgemäß wird diese Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, daß dem Ventilstempel des Ventils ein Wegsensor zugeordnet ist und daß Steuermittel für die zeitabhängige Steuerung des durch die Antriebsspule fließenden Stromes in Abhängigkeit des vom Wegsensor gelieferten Signals vorgesehen sind. Diese Maßnahmen erlauben eine gezielte Steuerung der Hubbewegung des Verschlußstückes bzw. des Systems, bestehend aus Verschlußstück und Ventilstempel. Beispielsweise kann erreicht werden, daß die Öffnungsbewegung des Verschlußstückes zumindest in ihrer Anfangsphase sehr langsam ist. Dadurch können schlagartig auftretende Gasströmungen vermieden werden. Werden die Offnungs- oder Schließbewegungen - zumindest in ihrer Endphase - ausreichend stark abgebremst, treten die Lebensdauer des Ventils beeinträchtigende Vibrationen nicht mehr auf.According to the invention, this object is achieved in that a displacement sensor is assigned to the valve stem of the valve and that control means are provided for the time-dependent control of the current flowing through the drive coil depending on the signal supplied by the displacement sensor. Das dargestellte, elektromagnetisch betätigbare Ventil 1 hat die Anschlußstutzen 2 und 3, zwischen denen der Ventilsitz 4 und das Verschlußstück (Ventilteller) 5 mit dem Ventilstempel 6 angeordnet sind. Aus dem von der Diode 2 4 gelieferten Signal kann deshalb auf die momentane Stellung des sich bewegenden Systems (Verschlußstück 5, Ventilstempel 6, Anker 7) geschlossen werden. Darüberhinaus können die Hubbewegungen in beiden Richtungen, also vor dem Auftreffen des Ventiltellers auf den Ventilsitz oder vor dem Anschlag an einem oberen Hubbegrenzer, so verlangsamt werden, daß praktisch keine Schläge bzw.
