Description
Filter systems are indispensable in the commercial sector, especially in woodworking, for the environmentally friendly disposal of processing residues. The use of powerful woodworking machines requires powerful extraction systems. High air flow rates require large filter surfaces. Filter cartridges are particularly effective in terms of filter surface area and space requirements due to the pleated arrangement of the filter material.
It is generally known that the filter cartridges can be cleaned using mechanically excited masses or compressed air.
Cleaning solutions that excite the filter cartridges radially as a result of defined mass imbalance have the disadvantage of a decreasing oscillation amplitude from the excitation point to the clamping point of the filter cartridges. This lack of effectiveness is further exacerbated by the fact that the dust particles are partially stabilized in the filter material by the force. Cleaning solutions whose functional principle is based on an imbalance excitation in the axial direction have the disadvantage that the cleaning effect decreases with the length of the filter and they are associated with high mechanical stress on the filter base and the filter material.
Die Durchlässigkeit der Filter nimmt unzulässig schnell ab.These mechanical cleaning systems do not stimulate the dust particles sufficiently to detach them, and they severely impair the durability of the filter cartridges. The permeability of the filters decreases unacceptably quickly.
The disadvantage of cleaning with compressed air is that the entire filter surface must be exposed to high pressure.
The mechanical effort required is considerable and the structure is prone to failure. In addition, the demand for compressed air is very high.
The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a device for cleaning filter cartridges which ensures effective cleaning of the entire filter surface, has a significantly less negative impact on the durability of the filters and is uncomplicated in construction and handling and is less susceptible to failure.

This problem is solved by the measures of claim 1.
The invention ensures that the entire pleated filter surface is cleaned when the frame moves up and down in the axial direction of the filter cartridge. This removal of dust particles is very effective and does not damage the filter material or its holder. The frame can be moved for cleaning using simple electromechanical means and can also be manufactured using a simple construction to clean several filter cartridges arranged in one plane.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2-5.
The further development according to claim 2 is designed for cleaning filter cartridges with an internal inflow side.
The design according to claim 3 enables the stroke to be shortened with an arrangement of at least two ring brushes for a filter cartridge. The design of the ring brush contour according to claim 4 leads to an effective cleaning effect with the least possible mechanical stress on the filter material.
The floating mounting of the ring brush in the frame according to claim 5 results in a simple and effective centering of the bristle ring attached to it to the filter cartridge.
An embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to Figures 1 to 5.

According to Figure 1, a filter cartridge 2 is attached to a frame 7. The filter cartridge 2 is closed by a sheet metal base 6 and has a pleated filter surface 4. The air to be cleaned flows from the outside over this pleated filter surface 4 into the interior 8 and from there, cleaned, into the outside.
A ring brush 1 is attached to a frame 3 that is mounted so that it can move in the axial direction of the filter cartridge as shown by the double arrow. The ring of bristles 9 of the ring brush rest on the pleated filter surface 4 or engage into its contour.
The frame 3 is moved up and down in the axial direction at defined time intervals by a conventional electromechanical drive (not shown), whereby the dust particles adhering to the filter surface (4) are stripped off by the ring brush 1. Instead of the bristle ring 9 or in addition to it, the ring brush 1 can also be provided with compressed air nozzles (not shown), via which compressed air pulses of a defined frequency are directed against the filter surface 4 during the movement of the ring brush 1.
The frame 3 can be attached to a frame 5, which supports several such cleaning devices for operating corresponding filter cartridges arranged in the same plane.
Fig. 2 shows a filter cartridge 10 in which the pleated filter surface 11 is flowed over the interior 12. Ring brushes 15, 16 are attached to a rod 13 of the frame 14 in two planes by means of a holder 25, the bristle rings 26, 27 of which clean the filter surface 11 directed towards the interior 12 with an analogous axial movement of the frame 14. With this arrangement of the ring brushes 15, 16, the stroke required to clean the filter cartridges is shortened.
The multi-level arrangement of the ring brushes 15, 16 described for the filter cartridge 10 with the flow from the inside with the purpose of shortening the stroke is also possible for a filter cartridge 2 with the flow from the outside according to Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a ring brush 17 with an inwardly directed bristle ring 18, which is held in a holder 20 via a wire insert 19.
This ring brush 17 is designed for cleaning the outer pleated filter surface.
A ring brush 21 for cleaning the inner pleated filter surface is shown in Fig. 4. In an analogous manner, a ring of bristles 22 is placed over a wire insert 23 in a holder 24.
Fig. 5 zeigt eine schwimmend in einem Haiterahmen 27 eines Gestelles 28 geführte Ringbürste 29 mit Borstenkranz 30.Fig. 5 shows a ring brush 29 with a ring of bristles 30 floating in a holding frame 27 of a rack 28.
With this ring brush guide, deviations from the vertical position of the filter cartridges are eliminated. The filter cartridges are subjected to even stress.
The bristle rings can also be wire loops or ring elements made of molded material that have the negative shape of the filter contour.
Schraubverbindung herstellbar. The attachment to the sliding frame 3,14 can be achieved by locking in an annular groove or by means of a clamp or screw connection.
