Rectangular folding table

The invention relates to a rectangular folding table according to the preamble of claim 1.

There are round folding tables where the table top, which is round when unfolded, can be folded into a semi-circular table top. When unfolded, a support must be swung out from the table frame, which grips under the unfolded half of the table top and holds it in the horizontal position.

The invention is based on the object of creating a rectangular folding table that can be folded out to twice its size in the simplest possible way without any support elements on the table frame having to be swung out. This object is achieved by the features specified in claim 1. The lower half of the table in the folded state is connected to the table frame via a swivel bearing and can thus be swung 90° from a first to a second position. If the first position is intended for the folded table top, the table top can be folded out in the second position so that both halves of the table do not lie on top of each other, but next to each other on the table frame. The table top must be secured against accidental swiveling. The locking screw preferably engages a screw nut located on the underside of one half of the table, which creates a stable connection between the table top and the table frame.

A downwardly projecting stop pin can be provided on the swiveling half of the table, which limits the swivel movement in the horizontal plane to 90° by the stop pin coming into contact with the table frame in the two positions mentioned. A tubular steel frame can be used very advantageously as the table frame, which has an approximately X-shaped contour when viewed from above.

The table half 1 is pivotably mounted on the table frame on its underside via a pivot bearing 11, while the other table half 2 rests loosely on the table frame.

^O In order to lock the table top 3 in the unfolded position shown, a locking screw 12 is provided on the table frame 4, the actuating wings of which are visible in the drawing. The locking screw 12 engages with its thread through the frame of the table frame into a screw nut attached to the underside of the table half 1. The screw nut can be inserted in a blind hole on the underside of the table half 1 in a rotationally fixed manner.

Figure 2 shows the position Pl of the folded table top, in the position of use. Position P2 shows the position of the table top immediately after folding the table top as shown in Figure 1. Only by pivoting 90° around the pivot bearing 11 does the folded table top reach position Pl. The pivoting movement is illustrated by arrows and by several intermediate positions of the table top in Figure 2.

In Figure 3, position Pl is shown separately again, in which the folded table top is in the normal position of use.

The perspective view of Figure 4 shows in particular the structure of the table frame 4, which is designed as a tubular steel frame. The position of the pivot bearing 11 and the locking screw 12 are visible on the table frame 4. In addition, a stop pin 13 is shown, which is attached to the underside of the pivotable

Table frame 4 is attached to the table half 1. This stop pin 13 facilitates the positioning of the table top in the two positions Pl and P2, which are provided on the one hand for the folded table top and on the other hand for the table top unfolded to twice the size.

Rectangular folding table, the table top of which rests on a table frame ^5 and consists of two congruent, foldable table halves, so that the table surface can be enlarged to twice the size if required, characterized in that one table half (1) is connected to the table frame (4) _via a pivot bearing (11) engaging its underside, and that the other table half (2) is connected at a longitudinal edge (9) via a hinge (10) to a longitudinal edge (8) of the pivotably mounted table half (1) in a foldable manner. ■ 2.
