Es handelt sich hier um eine Steckverbindungsanordnung für Lichtwellenleiter, die aus zwei gleichen Steckern besteht, in denen die Lichtwellenleiter-Enden an der Einführungsseite so befestigt sind, daß ihre Enden an der anderen Seite frei schwingen konnen. Diese beiden Stecker werden zu beiden Seiten einer Zentriernut in ein Verbindungsstück schräg eingeführt, so daß sich die Lichtwellenleiter-Enden in der Zentriernut einfädeln. Im weiteren Verlauf des Kupplungsvorganges werden die Lichtwellenleiter-Enden aufeinander ausgerichtet und zentriert. Derartige Verbindungssysteme sind jedoch nur für die Verbindung von Lichtwellenleitern untereinander geeignet. Eine derartige Einheit kann zum Beispiel aus zwei elektrischen und aus zwei optischen Adern, die in einer Steckeranordnung zusammengefaßt sind, bestehen. Die Steckeinheit als Verbindungsanordnung ist nun so ausgelegt, daß beim Steckvorgang die Verbindung aller Leitungen gleichzeitig erfolgt. Das bedeutet, daß die für Lichtwellenleiter-Adern vorgesehenen Verbindungsanordnungen zusätzliche elektrische Kontakte aufweisen müssen.
