Verfahren zur Absorption nitroser Gase. Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 27. November 1912 ab.Process for the absorption of nitrous gases. Patented in the German Empire on November 27, 1912.
Die vollständige Absorption und Gewinnung dieser mit LuftIt is well known that nitrogen is formed in the air during the oxidation - be it in the electrical Arc, whether by other methods, even under the most favorable circumstances - Always mixtures of air and nitrogen oxides, which are relatively poor in the latter and contain the same in a concentration of only a few percent. The full Absorption and extraction of these with air
Also, installation and labor costs of such absorption equipment are great considerable, regardless of whether the gases are captured by aqueous and alkaline absorbents or precipitated by strong cooling will.
It has now been proposed to convert dilute nitrous gases into organic Absorb liquids and get them out of solution in the same in concentrated form to recover (see French patent specification 404630). However, attempts have shown that all of the organic liquids cited as examples in this patent specification have only a low absorption capacity for the gases in question, so that they are considered to be concentrating Intermediate means are practically out of the question for the intended purpose.
So nehmen z. B. Hydrocarbons, their halogen and nitro compounds and halogen and nitro compounds of the aromatic
λ Hydrocarbons nitrous gases only up to about ι percent of their weight and leave the same, if this concentration is reached, with further. Pass through again escape. The glacial acetic acid, which is also mentioned in the French patent, only absorbs up to about one and a half percent of its weight in nitrous gases. λ
In contrast to these results, the observation must come as a surprise that the fatty acid esters of alcohols not mentioned in the patent mentioned, e.g. B. amyl acetate, have an extraordinarily high absorption capacity for nitrous gases. Amyl acetate absorbs e.g. B. at normal temperature approximately 20 percent of its weight in iVO ä and .ZV 2 O 3 , so the multiple of all the aforementioned organic liquids. Since it easily gives off the nitrous gases when air or other gases are passed through in the warmth, it is ideally suited as a concentrating intermediate agent for dilute nitrous gases. Esters to be considered here are e.g. B. also butyl acetate, amyl valerianate and amyl formate.
The recovery of the nitrogen oxides from the solution can, however, also in any other way, e.g. B. be done by direct action of water. In the latter case you can some of them can be obtained directly as nitric acid of commercial concentration.
Manner and the method is capable of a wide variety of applications, e.g. B. also everywhere, where nitrous fumes are generated as an annoying by-product in chemical or technical operations.
