Dagegen wird für den Informationsträger ein Kunststoffmaterial mit hohem dielektrischen Verlustfaktor, beispielsweise Polyvinylchlorid verwendet. Eine derartige Materialauswahl bietet nämlich die Gewähr, daß die zugeführte Hochfrequenzenergie nahezu ausschließlich im Trägerwerkstoff verbraucht wird. Die Herstellung der Informationstråger erfolgt nun in der Weise, daß der vorzugsweise als Folienbahn in die Prägepresse eingeführte Werkstoff 8 unter einem Druck von z. B. 10 bis 50 atü mittels Hochfrequenzenergie bei einer Betriebsfrequenz von z. B. 13,56 MHz, 27,12 MHz oder 40,68 MHz erwärmt und anschließend nach erfolgter plastischer Verformung mittels der gekühlten Elektroden wieder abgekühlt wird.
