Abstract

The demountable towbar has telescopic sections of metal tube which snap together using spring loaded pegs inside the profiles. The ends of the bar are fitted with hooks to secure between the vehicles, with the hooks on swivel mountings to enable relative movement between the vehicles, without straining the bar. The bar is suitable for cars and small vehicles and can be collapsed to fit into any boot. It can be made from square section metal tube for a simple construction.
