The invention relates to a detector for or in ultrasonic alarm systems, as specified in the preamble of claim 1 in more detail.
From the prior art it is known to use ultrasonic devices for burglar alarms To propose rooms and the like. Actual uses of ultrasound equipment have also been made for this purpose, involving a evaluated with a receiver received ultrasonic signal, which was based on the reflection of a transmitted ultrasonic signal. As is known, contains a moving object or body The reflected ultrasonic signal of a given frequency has a greater or lesser intensity in terms of intensity Share of frequency-shifted ultrasonic signal, its generation on the so-called Doppler effect is based.
Das gegen Ultraschall-Einbruchssicherungen entstandene Vorurteil beruht im entscheidenden Umfang darauf, daß derAs simple as the entire problem, in particular the use of ultrasound for ultrasonic burglar protection, appears to be so many difficulties have stood in the way of their practical application. This has led to the fact that it was pointed out in advertising brochures for burglar alarms has been that the respective offer is not a device based on the principle of ultrasound, ω because such ultrasound devices have come into disrepute in the course of time to such an extent that they are against their use there was already a widespread prejudice. Rather, in practice you have to use burglar alarms resorted to the principle of a Doppler hi radio device, d. H. with radio waves, work. That against The prejudice that has arisen from ultrasound burglar protection is based to a decisive extent on the fact that the Ultraschall ebenso wie auf sich bewegende Personen auch auf Turbulenzen in der Luft des zu überwachenden Raumes anspricht, die in bewohnten, z. Ultrasound as well as moving people also detect turbulence in the air of the person to be monitored That appeals to the inhabited, z. B. seasonal heated rooms cannot be avoided at all. Ultrasonic burglar alarms - that in themselves characterized by a relatively low price - are therefore essentially only recommended and used for "rooms" such as vehicles, caravans and the like been.
From DE-AS 23 34 167 is a method and a Apparatus for ultrasonic measurement of the thickness of an elongated component is known be triggered when a first echo pulse has a first predetermined property in addition to the minimum amplitude and the second echo pulse has a second predetermined property, again in addition to the minimum amplitude. Then the display should then triggered when the second echo pulse is a fixed time after the originally generated pulse This device is thus a distance measuring system based on the radar principle, in which the Running time of a pulse is evaluated.
The US-PS 35 54 013 also relates to an echo pulse ultrasonic thickness measuring device in which a circuit is specially provided to examine the echo pulse amplitude to determine whether this echo pulse based on single or multiple reflection of the sound energy in the workpiece. There are measures there provided to suppress signals based on multiple reflection.
From Bell System Technical Journal (1958) pp. 1023 up to 1028 it is generally known a frequency-modulated To subject the signal to an amplitude limitation.
It is the object of the present invention to specify a detector with which the ultrasound principle with its economic advantages can also be used for monitoring rooms in which turbulence in the air is to be expected.
With a detector, this object is achieved according to the preamble of claim 1 by the im Characteristics of claim 1 specified means. Further design and training of the The invention is set out in claim 2.
Dagegen sindIn other words, the solution according to the invention is that one first receives the Ultrasonic signal, which inevitably has frequency-modulated and amplitude-modulated components side by side has relatively strong amplified in order to then subject this amplified signal to an amplitude limitation through which all amplitude modulation of the received, amplified signal is cut off. What remains is an essentially rectangular wave Signal. This constant amplitude signal is a frequency comparison with the frequency of the originally transmitted ultrasonic signal, which is also referred to as so-called synchronous demodulation. The zero crossings of the The transmitted ultrasonic signal and that of the received, preprocessed signal are combined with one another compared. Because of the high pre-amplification that z. B. is 100 dB, then there is always a sufficiently high intensity for this comparison of the zero crossings, frequency-changed received signal, if the total received signal contains at least a portion, the one based on the reflection on a moving object to be determined - usually a moving object Person, such as B. a burglar - is based. Against are
Mit HiUe eines Filters, mit dem das Ausgangssignal des FrequenzvergleichersThere are fluctuations in the received signal that are based on turbulence in the air, with certainty excluded, so that false alarm signals based thereon are again avoided. With a filter, with which the output signal of the frequency comparator
ι s- Is sifted out, can for the invention Detector limits the detected speed range by selecting the bandwidth of this filter will. Experience has shown that there is only a relatively small speed range for the detection of the presence of an intruder; any rapidly moving reflective objects, such as B. larger butterflies are then excluded from detection and the associated false alarms. ι s
As already indicated at the beginning, compared to the use of ultrasonic alarm systems, a entrenched prejudice existed, which the present invention has overcome. The invention now enables the very inexpensive ultrasonic alarm systems to be used wherever Influences on the reflected signal due to turbulence etc. must be expected.
A basic diagram of the invention is explained below with reference to a figure.
It transmits a schematically indicated ultrasonic radiation designated by 2 and having a predetermined frequency f s by means of a transmission transducer 3, as is customary. This ultrasonic radiation 2 impinges in part on stationary objects, such as walls 4, as well as on a moving 5i that is assumed to be present and thus an object 5 to be determined. The reflected ultrasonic radiation indicated schematically by 6 impinges on a receiving transducer 7, in which the J5 received ultrasonic radiation is converted back into an electrical signal. On their way to the objects 4 and 5, the ultrasound radiations 2 and 6 pass through turbulence zones that are schematically indicated by 8, generally changing, in which a signal influence, in particular in terms of intensity, occurs
The electrical signal emitted by the receiving transducer 7 is amplified in an amplifier 9 in such a way that an amplitude ratio, such as AU = ± 0.5 volts, results. The amplitude limiter 10 can also be an electronic component of the amplifier 9 or of the subsequent product detector 11. The signal supplied by the amplifier 9 and the amplitude limiter 10, which contains the frequency f r , and a signal of the transmission frequency U supplied via a connection 12 to this product detector 11 are mixed there in such a way that, according to a time comparison of the zero crossings of both signals, the Product detector 11 only a difference frequency signal / b is taken, which is fed to a filter 13 provided. This filter 13, implemented as a B-pass filter, allows e.g. B. only frequencies in the range of z. B. 50 Hz to 1 kHz to the output terminal 14 through. Such signals arriving at the output connection 14 are based on speed movements of the object 5 and not on turbulence in zone 8. Conversely, if there is no moving object at output connection 14, assumed here as 5, there is no output signal, even with the strongest practically occurring turbulence in zone S. Through the low-pass filter 13 is also ensured that only such an object 5 leads to an output signal at the connection 14 which moves in a speed range predetermined by the band-pass values of the filter 13.
The filter 13 is also capable of the output signal of any interference components that may still be present to free.
A detector constructed according to the invention is also able to detect signals from a moving object which only make up a very small proportion in the received and amplified signal f r .
A product detector as used in the invention can be designed as a module that already contains the amplifier 9 and the limiter 10.
