Abstract

The electronic watch employs a fluidic crystal or light emitting diode digital display. The display field is positioned across the front edge of the watch case, approximately perpendicular to the plane of the watch strap or watch band, so that the display can be viewed without rotation of the wearer's wrist. The top surface of the watch case may be decorated with a monogram or design, if may form a miniature photograph frame, or it may comprise the photo-sensitive surface of a solar cell used to power the watch.
