Abstract

The output voltage consists of a useful voltage proportional to the flow velocity, on which a transformer interference voltage shifted in phase by 90 deg. is superposed. Controlled switching means eliminate the effect of interference voltage on measurement result. A pulse generator (10) controlled by an indicator coil (5) controls two stores (8, 9) consecutively at equidistant instants at like zero crossings of the interference voltage. The stores' inputs are connected to the electrodes (3), and outputs to an analogue summation unit (11) which delivers a d.c. voltage corresponding to the useful voltage.

Description

The invention relates to an inductive flow meter with a magnetic field generating excitation winding excited by sinusoidal alternating current and with electrodes at which a useful voltage proportional to the flow velocity with superimposed transformer interference voltage that is electrically phase-shifted by 900 occurs, as well as with controlled switching means to eliminate the influence of Interference voltage on the measurement result.

A flow meter of this type is known from DU-PS 939 410, in which a voltage of the electrode voltage induced by the magnetic field at an amplifier is counterbalanced and behind the amplifier a phase-selective net-controlled Rectification takes place.

In an inductive flow meter known from US Pat. No. 3,316,762 with a square wave generator to supply the excitation winding is to be eliminated the effect of the transformer interference voltage on the measurement result required by integration intervals. This is based on the integrated sum The integrated interference voltage is subtracted from the useful and interference voltage.

Both cases are controlled rectifiers over half a period current-permeable, the opening intervals from the characteristics of the rectifier and their temperature behavior have dependent tolerances that affect the measurement accuracy disadvantageous influence. In addition, are elaborate and the Integrators impairing the dynamics of the intended electronic amplifiers required for detecting the interference voltage.

The invention is based on the object of an inductive flow meter of the type mentioned to simplify and its tolerance range at the same time Improve the dynamics of narrowing, so that a faster and more accurate measurement is achieved by simpler means.

The object is achieved according to the invention in that that one brought in dependence on a magnetic field-induced indicator coil Pulse generator device two memories one after the other at equidistant points in time at the same zero crossings of the interference voltage, which in turn controls the input side coupled to the electrodes and on the output side to an analog summing element are, so that a DC voltage corresponding to the useful voltage at the output of the summing element occurs.

Further details are simplified using one in the drawing illustrated embodiment of the invention explained in more detail below. It Fig. 1 shows a simplified circuit according to the invention, Fig. 2a the useful and Interference voltage, FIG. 2b the equidistant derived from the zero crossing of the interference voltage Pulses ii, i2, Fig. 2c, the integrated sum of useful and interference voltage from Time t1, FIG. 2d shows the integrated difference between the two voltages from the time t2, FIG. 2e, the corresponding summed useful voltage at the output of the summing element.

The inductive flow meter 1 has a fluid to be measured or Gas flowed through pipe section 2 with electrodes 3 and a of sinusoidal Alternating current fed excitation winding 4. The electrodes 3 are via an impedance converter 6 coupled to the inputs of two memories 8 and 9, the output side to a analog summing element 11 are connected. The control circuits of the memory 8, 9 are connected to a pulse generator device 10, which via an impedance converter 7 with an indicator coil 5 induced by the magnetic field of the excitation winding 4 are connected. The phase position of the magnetic field is detected with the indicator coil 5. Since this according to FIG. 2a is in phase with the by 900 electrical to the flow proportional Useful voltage Si is phase-shifted interference voltage St, it also detects the zero crossing the interference voltage St at time to or generally to + 2 n g (with n = 1, 1 ....). At each of the aforementioned zero crossings of the interference voltage St are in the electronic Pulse generator device 10 each two to the zero crossing of the interference voltage St temporally (t1, t2, t1 + 2 nt, t2 + 2 nwS) equidistant pulses i1, i2 according to Fig. 2b generated, which at these times control the memory 8 and 9 so that in the memory 8 the sum of useful and interference voltage and shown in phantom in Figo 2a in the memory 9, the difference between the two in each case according to FIG. 2c and d in the form of a DC voltage is derived and given to the summing element 11, in which from both by summing the useful voltage according to FIG. 2e is formed, which corresponds to the flow of the medium or its speed is proportional.
