Description
The invention relates to a method for the hygienic disposal of high polymers containing chlorine existing plastic waste, in which through a thermal treatment of the waste from these gaseous Hydrochloric acid is split off and thereupon the practically chlorine-free solid residues of the waste to be burned. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out this method.
In view of the constantly changing consumption, it is specifically used as packaging material plastics containing chlorine, e.g. B. polyvinyl chloride, the hygienic disposal of such plastic waste, d. H. their combustion without the emission of highly toxic hydrochloric acid gases together with the combustion gases in the open atmosphere to a pressing problem of environmental protection.
Zur Lösung dieses Problems werden bei einem bereits bekannten Verfahren der eingangs genannten Art die chlorierten Hochpolymere zu einer thermischen Vorbehandlung in einem Drehrohrofen über einen das Drehrohr und eine daran anschließende, zum Verbrennungsofen führende Schurre umgebenden Heizmantel mittels Heißluft aufgeheizt, wobei diese in einem dem Verbrennungsofen nachgeschalteten Wärmetauscher mittels der heißen Verbrennungsgase rückerhitzt und in einem über den Heizmantel führenden Kreislauf ständig zirkuliert wird, so daß sie selber mit den Kunststoffabfällen nicht in Berührung kommt, d. h. die gasförmige Salzsäure durch eine »Pyrolyse« von den Abfällen abgespaltet wird (US-PS 37 16 339).To solve this problem, in an already known method of the type mentioned, the chlorinated high polymers for thermal pretreatment in a rotary kiln via a das Rotary tube and an adjoining chute surrounding the heating jacket leading to the incinerator heated by means of hot air, this being in a heat exchanger connected downstream of the incineration furnace reheated by means of the hot combustion gases and constantly in a circuit leading over the heating jacket is circulated so that it does not come into contact with the plastic waste itself, d. H. the gaseous Hydrochloric acid is split off from the waste by "pyrolysis" (US Pat. No. 3,716,339).
Zudem besteht bei dieser bekannten Einrichtung zumindest die Gefahr, daß durch den vor dem Kamin angeordneten Saugzugventilator zusammen mit dem natürlichen Kaminzug im Verbrennungsofen erzeugten Unterdruck das abgespaltete Salzsäuregas wenigstens teilweise in den Ofenfeuerraum abgezogen wird, zumalThe device required to carry out this method is because of the large, both the Rotary kiln as well as the heating jacket surrounding the chute, as well as because of the re-heating the heat exchanger required for the air and the extensive hot air ring line provided with a circulation fan Not only unfavorable in terms of the outlay on equipment, but also because of the Heating jacket made it difficult to access the crusher rollers and regulating flaps that were used to supply the Incinerator with the crushed solid waste residues are provided within the chute. In addition, with this known device there is at least the risk that by the front of the fireplace arranged induced draft fan together with the natural chimney draft in the incinerator Under pressure the split off hydrochloric acid gas is at least partially drawn off into the furnace firebox, especially since

He invention now has for its object to provide a method of the stated type which • t considerably lower investment costs manages "r, at the same time d a greater operational reliability guarantees passes and also the current point of the l Imweltschutzes suit.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that rl β leads to hydrolytic-thermal gas elimination H 'chlorine-containing plastic waste immediately with too Is carrier gas used superheated water vapor in direct contact with this thermally treated and then the water vapor is removed together with the hydrochloric acid gas split off, together is cooled and condensed that the superheated steam supplied to the waste from below passed through a layer of the waste resting on a stationary base and that through it generated mixture of water vapor and split off hydrochloric acid gas for its cooling and condensation is derived and that the plastic waste is fed to its hvdrolytic-thermal treatment Amount of superheated steam in relation to the amount of hydrochloric acid gas split off is chosen so that the condensate resulting from the mixture of steam and hydrochloric acid gas is a hydrochloric acid solution yields which is not more concentrated than 20.24%.
In this process, the superheated steam is used, apart from the direct one here Contact between water vapor and the chlorine-containing plastic waste caused hydrolytic-thermal Gas splitting itself, in a further function as a carrier gas for the split off gaseous hydrochloric acid, which then also cooled down together with the water vapor and together with this also become one Hydrochloric acid solution is condensed, the gaseous hydrochloric acid with participation, material cooperation and Absorption of the constituents of the water is evaporated and that for their transfer to hydrochloric acid solution used water already with the previously already used as an agent of the reaction for the gas elimination using water vapor is provided. At the same time it is prevented that gaseous Hydrochloric acid escapes into the environment with the exhaust gas.
Die Einrichtung zur Durchführung dieses Verfahrens, die wie die zuvor erläuterte bekannte Einrichtung (US-PS 37 16 339), einen der Abspaltung der gasförmigen Salzsäure von den chlorhaltigen Kunststoffabfällen dienenden Behälter und eine diesem nachgeschaltete Verbrennungsvorrichtung für die festen Abdallruckstände aufweist, ist nach der Erfindung dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der gasdicht abschließbare Behalter mit mindestens je einem unten am Behalter angeordneten Einlaß für den überhitzten Wasserdampf und einem oben an ihm angeordneten Einlaß fur die Kunststoffabfälle sowie einem GasgemischauslaB furThe device for carrying out this method, the same as the known device explained above (US-PS 37 16 339), one of the splitting off of the gaseous hydrochloric acid from the chlorine-containing plastic waste serving container and a downstream incineration device for the fixed pressure levels has, is characterized according to the invention in that the gas-tight lockable container each with at least one inlet for the superheated water vapor arranged at the bottom of the container and an inlet arranged on top of it for the plastic waste and a gas mixture outlet for
ZO the water vapor / hydrochloric acid gas mixture is provided and a gas cooler is connected to the gas mixture outlet.
The inventive method is used in its implementation thanks to the device hydrolytic-thermal gas scavenging and the superheated used for this as an agent of the reaction Water vapor, the outlay on equipment, omitting the previous method based on pyrolysis The heating jacket, circulatory system and circulating fan required for the agent of the reaction are considerably lower. In addition, compared to the known method, the operational reliability against undesired Gaseous hydrochloric acid escapes through the incinerator into the open atmosphere and thus the The necessary environmental protection is guaranteed and, at the same time, the corrosion of difficult-to-access parts of the apparatus avoided.

Of course, the Container I at the steam inlet 5 and / or gas mixture outlet 6 each have one in FIG. 1 with 5a and 6a only indicated Shut-off element can be provided, which could then also be used as a regulating element; A measure, which essentially depends on the special type and design of the thermal treatment process depends.
This is the case with the thermal treatment of the chlorine-containing Plastic waste with the superheated steam in the container 1 resulting hydrochloric acid gas-steam mixture is discharged from the container 1 via the gas mixture outlet 6, via a pipe 17 passed into the gas cooler 8, where it is cooled and condensed, after which the resulting preferably a concentration below 20.24% having saline solution concentrated by distillation technical Hydrochloric acid can be obtained. The thermal treatment of plastics made of chlorine Existing waste, which occurs discontinuously here, is practically unpressurized, but it can possible penetration due to a slight overpressure in the container 1 compared to the atmosphere are excluded from cool ambient air in the container 1. Such a slight excess vapor pressure which incidentally also required for the gas mixture promotion to the gas cooler 8, by the Condensation in the gas cooler 8 would support the negative pressure generated, can already be achieved by that the ratio of the cross-sections of the steam supply line and gas mixture discharge line 17 accordingly is chosen. A slight excess pressure in the container could also be achieved by making the appropriate setting one of the two shut-off devices 5a and 6a, which can also be used as regulating devices, can be achieved. In each The main trap is the temperature and the volume of superheated steam supplied for the thermal treatment of plastic waste containing chlorine of importance, while the vapor pressure at most plays a subordinate role for this.
During thermal treatment, PVC first emits hydrochloric acid gas, and only then does thermal treatment begin Depolymerization. In order not to blow the split off hydrochloric acid gas into the flue gases must, the thermal treatment of the PVC takes place here by means of superheated steam, which then with the split off hydrochloric acid gas is condensed together to form a hydrochloric acid solution, the so Crude hydrochloric acid, e.g. B. can be brought back on the market as technical hydrochloric acid.
The amount of superheated water vapor supplied to the container 1 in relation to the amount split off Salt turbo-gasmcngc is preferably chosen in such a way that that the Gosgcmisch condensation gives a liquid hydrochloric acid solution which has a maximum of one concentration of 20.24%. That from the saline gas-water vapor mixture rcsulicrendc condensate should thus result in a hydrochloric acid solution that is stronger diluted or at least not more concentrated is ah 20.24%.

Since the residues fed to the combustion grate 9 are practically chlorine-free, they can be burned on this grate without the flue gases produced thereby still containing a significant amount of hydrochloric acid gas, after which the flue gases are cooled, cleaned and discharged into the open atmosphere. Therefore, normal garbage of the usual composition could also be burned on the combustion grate i without further ado.
