Abstract

The colour television cathode-ray tube has an electron gun (7) with heated cathodes (11, 12, 13) and a screen (2) with line oriented phosphor strip pattern for different colour rendering. The cathodes, whose number corresponds to that of the different colour phosphor strip, are arranged on a line orthogonal to the phosphor strip pattern. In the front plate (1) is mounted a vertical conductive grid (6) outside the optically used front plate region, on which impinges a swept electron beam during the period of the line blanking out. The beam impingement generates a control pulse for vertical deflection. In each line of one colour strip pattern is provided a target point (23) which holds the vertical deflection, when impinged by the electron beam.
