Vorzugsweise beträgt dabei die Breite des Bügels 40 bis 80% der Breite des Rückenteils der Einbanddecke. Beschlag und Bügel können überaus einfach und preiswert afertigt sowie mit der Einbanddecke vereinigt werden. Der Flanschteil vermittelt dem Bügel eine widerstandsfähige Abstützung , die Verformungen unter Last und aus Nachgiebigkeit resultierende Verlagerungen ausschließt. Vorzugsweise ist hierzu der Flanschteil längs der Außenkante des rückwärtigen Deckelteils vom Beschlag abgewinkelt und weist an seinem dem Rückenteil abgelegenen Rand eine von einer Einrollung gebildete Lagerbuchse für den Bügel auf. Dabei bleibt der Innenraum der Einbanddecke frei von hineinragenden Teilen und erlaubt eine unbehinderte Einheftung von Schriftgut.
