In dem Patent 236881 und dessen Zusatzpatent 238104 wurde gezeigt, daß man aktiven Sauerstoff enthaltende Produkte durch Zusammenschmelzen von Natriumsuperoxyd mit Borsäure oder Boraten herstellen kann, daß man ferner diesen Schmelzen noch Salze gewisser Art zusetzen kann. Infolgedessen sind die Schmelzpräparate ein fertiges Produkt, während die Bestandteile der mechanischen Gemische beim Lagern aufeinander einwirken und zur Zersetzung führen. Außerdem sind diese mechanischen Gemische ätzend, da das Natriumsuperoxyd, welches darin enthalten ist, bei der Anwendung seine ihm eigene ätzende Wirkung entfaltet.
