Description
The invention relates to a device for the transmission of measurement data in the form of at least two high-frequency signals are present and by means of a transmitting part in chronological succession via a common transmission line are sent and received by means of a receiving device and are further processed.
When transmitting measurement data, the problem often arises of transporting them with the correct phase and amplitude, even from several measurement points and over greater distances. This applies in particular to control and monitoring signals, for example for the following transmission case. The task of a so-called particle synchroton is to accelerate the particle beam in a circular path that is formed by a pipe. The beam must be kept as precisely as possible in the center in all points of the orbit. For this purpose, many measuring points are necessary, which determine in which direction the beam deviates from the center of its orbit. The beam is accelerated by a high-frequency excitation which, because of the high speed of the beam, which corresponds almost to the speed of light, has a relatively high frequency, e.g. B. 200 MHz, a signal of 200MHz is generated at the pick-up probes for the above-mentioned measurement data, and these probes are arranged on both sides of the pipe in the direction of the x- and y-axes, based on the beam center point Deviate in the direction of the positive j ^ probe, a higher voltage arises at this probe and a lower voltage corresponding to the central position of the beam on the opposite negative j ^ probe. The task of the transmission technology is to supply this position information of the 200 MHz signals from the sensors with the correct phase and amplitude, possibly even over longer distances of a few kilometers, to an evaluator, which provides the required correction value by comparing it with other probes other circumferential points calculated and emits a corresponding control signal to magnetic control devices for beam correction. In principle, it would be possible, such as. B. in "Taschenbuch der Nachrichtenverarbeitung" by K. St ei η buch, pp. 878/879, stated that the two signals should be transmitted by keying on the transmitter side between two frequencies and discriminator evaluation at the receiver. However, this fails because at such high frequencies z. B. at 200 MHz amplitude and especially in-phase transmission causes great difficulties because the. The cables used change their data, for example due to temperature fluctuations. The transmission could be carried out at lower frequencies, for example by mixing down the high-frequency signal. However, there are still further difficulties in that the high-frequency transmission devices to be arranged in the vicinity of the scanning probes are constantly subjected to a considerable amount of radioactive radiation energy caused by the particle beam. As a result, semiconductor elements in particular can easily change their properties.
The invention is based on the object of the transmission even under the difficulties mentioned above to secure properly.
Diese Aufgabe wird bei einer Einrichtung zur Übertragung von Meßdaten, die in Form wenigstens zweier hochfrequenter Signale vorliegen und mittels eines Sendeteils in zeitlicher Aufeinanderfolge über eine gemeinsame Übertragungsleitung geschickt werden und mittels einer Empfangseinrichtung aufgenommen und weiterverarbeitet werden, gemäß der Erfindung dadurch gelöst, daß im Sendeteil ein elektronischer Schalter vorgesehen ist, der mit einer wesentlich niedrigeren Frequenz als die der hochfrequenten Signale diese alternierend an den Eingang eines pegelgeregelten Verstärkers legt, dessen Ausgangsspannung einem Amplitudendemodulator zugeführt und das demodulierte Signal auf die Übertragungsstrecke gegeben wird und daß im Empfangsteil ein mit der Schaltfrequenz gesteuerter Synchrondemodulator vorgesehen ist, dessen Ausgangsspannung die beiden Signale in zeitlicher Aufeinanderfolge amplituden- und phasenrichtig wiedergibtThis task is in a device for the transmission of measurement data, which in the form of at least two high-frequency signals are present and by means of a transmitting part in chronological succession via a common transmission line are sent and received by means of a receiving device and processed further, solved according to the invention in that an electronic Switch is provided which has a much lower frequency than that of the high frequency Signals these alternately apply to the input of a level-controlled amplifier, its output voltage an amplitude demodulator and the demodulated signal on the transmission path is given and that a synchronous demodulator controlled with the switching frequency is provided in the receiving part is whose output voltage amplitude and amplitude of the two signals in chronological succession in phase
It is advantageous for exact synchronization if the clock frequency of the electronic switch and the Synchronous demodulator obtained from a multiple of the switching frequency via digital frequency dividers and a phase shifter is connected upstream of at least one of these parts for exact adjustment.
Ferner ist es vorteilhaft, wenn der eingangsseitig im Sendeteil vorgesehene Verstärker eine PegelregelungIt is also advantageous if the amplifier provided on the input side in the transmitting section has a level control
mit derartiger Reserve hat, daß ein z. B. durch Alterung oder Störbeeinflussung von Verstärkerelementen hervorgerufener Pegelabfall weitgehend ausgeglichen wird.with such a reserve that a z. B. by aging or interference from amplifier elements caused level drop largely compensated will.
Durch die erfindungsgemäße Anordnung wird erreicht, daß die beiden Sondensignate altrnierend über einen einzigen Empfangszug verstärkt werden und dabei exakt die gleiche Beeinflussung erleiden, wodurch ihre gegenseitige Relation erhalten bleibtBy the arrangement according to the invention it is achieved that the two probe signs altrnierend over a single receive train are amplified and suffer exactly the same influence, whereby their mutual relation is preserved
At the high radio frequency of around 200MHz to the control frequency for the alternating switchover can be relatively high (e.g. 400 kHz). As soon as the two If probe signals have a different amplitude, one corresponding to this difference arises Amplitude modulation that is either in phase or in antiphase with the control frequency, depending on Beam divergence direction.
According to the required HF gain in each case, the an AGC loop regulates automatically, the amplitude-modulated signal is rectified. This creates a The control-frequency baseband signal corresponding to the amplitude modulation, the amplitude of which corresponds to the magnitude the beam deviation and its phase position relative to the control frequency of the direction of the beam deviation is equal to. This baseband signal is carried to the measuring center via a symmetrical cable a baseband filter freed from interference and a phase-selective rectifier (synchronous detector) fed. A DC voltage is now available at the output of the synchronous detector, whose size corresponds to the beam deviation and whose polarity corresponds to the direction of this deviation.
The invention is described in more detail below with reference to a block diagram according to the figure.
As can be seen from the schematic representation, the beam moves, for example in the direction of the viewer, in a tube R. Two measuring probes + Sy 1 -Sy are arranged in the direction of the y-axis. The measuring probes in the x-axis have been omitted for the sake of simplicity of the illustration. However, the transmission device described below is the same for the measurement data of the x-axis. When flying past the probes, the beam, which has a density modulation of 200 MHz, generates such a signal at the measuring probes. If the beam comes closer to the upper probe, this will emit a greater voltage than the central position of the beam and the lower probe a smaller one. If the beam is in the middle, both probes emit the same voltage. The two useful signals that arise in this way are sent to an electronic switch ES via a decoupling network EN . This electronic switch switches in the rhythm of a clock rate substantially lower frequency than the signal to be transmitted alternately one or the other probe to a common output Λ 1 followed by another variable attenuator DG 1. The set voltage AGC is by rectification of the output voltage of the entire H F-amplifier generated, as explained in more detail below. A filter Fi i follows, the bandwidth of which must be adapted to the frequency of change of the signals from the measuring probes. In the frequency example already given, this fluctuation Afc is 2 to 4 MHz. Following the filter is an amplifier stage V1 with constant gain and a subsequent filter. This is followed by another adjustable attenuator DG 2, which is also controlled by the control voltage AGC.
A further amplifier stage V'2 provides again for a level increase and is in its gain also constant The here still existing 200-M-Hz signal from the probes is then an amplitude rectifier D 1 supplied who wins the envelope of the RF signal, the output signal has the switching frequency / 2, and its size depends on how big the moment of turning on one or the other probe, the measuring voltage obtained is This signal is used for integration in the V8, as already mentioned, initially for amplitude control of the attenuators DG 1 and DG 2 and has As will be explained later, also the purpose of compensating within certain limits a reduction in the gain in the two amplifier stages caused by beam damage. The signal (2 is then fed to a balancing transformer U \ and given on a transmission cable K 1. However, since it is only the transmission of the Sdia! Tfrequen2, e.g. 400 kHz, the influence on the phase mentioned at the beginning falls and amplitude of the signals largely disappeared due to changes in the cable characteristics.
In order to obtain sufficient freedom from interference, the cable is a symmetrical cable executed.
A balun transformer Ü2 follows on the receiving side, the output of which is connected to a bandpass filter Fi2 for the switching frequency 400 kHz. The connection point is brought out in order to obtain a measuring output MA . A synchronous detector SD is connected downstream of the bandpass filter , the switching input of which is supplied with the switching frequency (400 kHz) via an amplifier V3. In this way it is ensured that the transmitted signal is scanned in synchronism with the transmitting end on the receiving side, so that a rigid assignment to the signals of the probes + Sy and -Sy is guaranteed. This requires an exact phase adjustment, for which elements to be explained later are provided. The sampled signal is then fed to the output via a low-pass filter Fi 3 and an amplifier V 4 which can be adjusted for calibration. A direct current signal Δχ appears at the output, which represents a direct criterion for the beam deviation from the center. This DC voltage is zero when the beam Si is in the intended center; if it deviates in one or the other direction, a corresponding positively or negatively polarized DC voltage appears.
Dort wird das Schaltsignal fs über einen weiteren Übertrager Ü4 und einen Trennverstärker V 6 auf denIn order to ensure that the rectification in the synchronous detector SD takes place in the correct phase position, there is a common part of the system, which is referred to as the clock generator TG . The clock generator TG is controlled by a crystal oscillator OS, the signal of which is a frequency multiplier of the actual switching frequency. After amplification in V5, this signal is first converted into a rectangular form in the usual sinusoidal form in the converter U. A rectangular signal thus appears at its output the repetition frequency, here z. B. 8 MHz. This switching signal is fed to a phase shifter Ph and a digital frequency divider FTi on the one hand. The frequency divider has a division ratio that allows the desired switching frequency, here for example 400 kHz, to arise. This switching frequency is given via a balancing transformer Ü3 to a symmetrical cable K 2 , which is connected to the transmitter part. There, the switching signal fs is sent via a further transformer U4 and an isolating amplifier V 6 to the
Schalter ES gegeben. Switch ES given. The transformer U 4 has a further output via which a calibration signal EL , which will be mentioned later, can reach the amplifier V6 and the switch ES. The transformer Oi in the clock generator TG has a corresponding input for this calibration signal.
Dieses Signal dient am Synchrondetektor als SchaUsignaLThe 8 MHz signal! of the oscillator 05 is still fed to a digital frequency divider FT2 which is designed here in two stages (IO: I and 2: 1). This divider FT2 has two outputs (0, π / 2) to receive a signal with phase zero for measurement and a signal with phase π / 2 (90 °) for calibration, with which, depending on the operating mode, the synchronous detector SD has the amplifier V3 is applied. This signal serves as a SchaUsignaL on the synchronous detector
Diese Phaseneichung erfolgt bei jeder Prüfung der BetriebsbereitschaftThe phase calibration is the prerequisite for the amplitude calibration and takes place automatically by applying an external calibration signal EL (direct voltage). This phase calibration takes place with every operational readiness test
The amplitude calibration takes place only at longer time intervals and is the one proposed here Measuring principle of minor importance. Therefore amplitude calibration is carried out manually.
Die Phaseneichung der Anlage geschieht in folgender Weise: Das Eichsignal EL wird am Taktgenerator TG angelegt Damit wird:The phase calibration of the system takes place in the following way: The calibration signal EL is applied to the clock generator TG .
a) mittels Schalter & an Stelle des zur Messung erforderlichen Schaltsignals (φ - 0) ein um π/2 (90*) gedrehtes Schaltsignal über den Verstärker V3 an den Synchrondetektor SDgelegta) by means of switch & in place of the switching signal (φ - 0) required for measurement by π / 2 (90 *) The rotated switching signal is sent to the synchronous detector SD via the amplifier V3
b) der Verstärker Y7 zum automatischen Phasenausgieich aktiviert undb) the amplifier Y7 is activated for automatic phase balancing and
c) das Eichsignal über die Übertrager Ü3 und 04 anc) the calibration signal via the transformers Ü3 and 04
Mittels V6 wird nun der Schalter ES so gesteuert daß an dessen Ausgang AI ein 100% moduliertes AM-Signal mit der Frequenz der Schaltfrequenz entsteht Dieses AM-Signal wird in der schon beschriebenen Weise verstärkt mittels einer AGC auf einenThe switch ES is now controlled by means of V6 so that a 100% modulated AM signal with the frequency of the switching frequency is produced at its output A I. This AM signal is amplified in the manner already described by means of an AGC normierten Pegel gebracht gleichgerichtet und zum Synchrondetektor geführtnormalized level brought rectified and fed to the synchronous detector
In the synchronous detector whose Schaltsignial is rotated during the calibration procedure by 90 ° the phase difference between the reception signal and switching signal determines when the difference 90 °, so the output of V 4 produces a signal "zero at Ax-"
Damit sind sämtliche Laufzeiten von Kabeln und Ablage berücksichtigt; der Phasenabgleich ist beendetIf, on the other hand, a phase difference deviating from 90 ° occurs, a corresponding DC voltage is generated at the dx output. This voltage is fed to V 7 via Fi 4 and controls the digital phase shifter Ph so that it becomes "zero". This takes into account all cable and storage times; the phase adjustment is finished
Hiermit ist das System vollständig geeicht Durch Abschalten des Eichsignals EL ist die Anlage meßbereitTo adjust the amplitude, it is now only necessary to switch back the switching signal SS and the amplifier V7 to the measuring division while maintaining the other calibration state. The received signal and switching signal are now in phase. The output voltage Ax is maximum and amounts to +5 V. Deviations can be compensated by changing the gain in VA. This means that the system is completely calibrated. The system is ready for measurement by switching off the calibration signal EL
The output frequency for the switching signal is expediently selected to be high (8MHz) in order to be favorable Realization opportunities for the digital phase shifter to be achieved.
The RF amplitude at the pick-up probes fluctuates depending on the beam intensity by 4OdB from about 0 to -4OdBm. For the optimal adjustment of the beam, an output par. Only g Ax, which is independent of this level fluctuation, is required. The condition for constant output voltage Ax is constant HF voltage at HF rectifier Di. To ensure this a gain control loop AGC is provided, which automatically ensures constant HF voltage. The control volume of the control loop is 60 dB and exceeds the required control range by 2OdB. This reserve is used to automatically compensate for changes in the gain in the receive path caused by radiation up to this value.
