Beschreibungdescription
It is well known that the manufacturers of plastic granulates do not take into account the many different coloring requirements the processor. Therefore the granules have to be colored afterwards. This has recently been used Paints in paste form, since with paint pastes a better distribution of the color substances in the spray and compacts is achieved than with pure pigments, so-called dry colors. Incidentally, you can use Color pastes, which generally have a viscosity of 300-35,000 centipoise, colored granules Process more dust-free, they produce a more speck-free coloring, enable better mixing with plastic powders or granulates in a shorter time and even improve the flow properties of plastics.
The addition of surfactants has long been known in the production of aqueous paint dispersions. According to British Patent 8 44 751, organic pigments are mixed with nonionic pigments in a kneader surfactants, e.g. B. also laurates, added to these pigments to inks for pens to process. The French patent 14 37 074 discloses the production of pulverulent pigments from a moist raw material containing aluminum. For this process, small amounts of the raw material are added Sorbitan monooleates and trioleates added to the finished pigment with extremely low moisture content remain. Color pastes for coloring plastics of all kinds are made according to this process not made.
The known color pastes, however, have one because of the binder chosen for their production Number of disadvantages. Often they do not dry up enough on the granules, which means that automatic conveying is possible the silo storage of the granules becomes difficult. Many color pastes settle in the Containers so strongly that they have to be stirred up again for a long time before use. Other Color pastes are not suitable for all known plastics and are sticky so that mixed with them Granules lose their flowability. In addition, the mixing units used, which were needed to color plastics, cause heavy soiling.
inerten Feststoffes dispergierLThe binder used according to the invention results in color pastes in which these disadvantages do not occur, in particular the color pastes produced therewith dry on the granules without any problems, so that the granules colored in this way are unrestrictedly suitable for automatic conveying and storage in silos.
It has now been found that color pastes or dispersions for coloring plastic granules by dispersing inorganic or organic dry colors in a nonionic surfactant with the above-mentioned improved properties are obtained by using the dry colors in a mixture of 95-40 wt. % of a sorbitan and / or sorbitol surfactant and 5 to 60% by weight of a powdery inert solid dispersed
Color pastes or dispersions with binders of such a composition are compatible with practical all types of plastics, always result in stain-free and streak-free colors and behave absolutely trouble-free when entering data into machines such as injection molds and extrusion presses.
All pulverulent inert solids come as solids for the binders used according to the invention in question, such as B. silica and sulfates, carbonates and silicates of alkaline earths, in particular those of magnesium, calcium, strontium, and barium; Calcium carbonate is particularly preferred.
Als besonders wirkungsvolle Tenside kommen z. B. die folgenden Verbindungen in Betracht:Particularly effective surfactants come, for. B. the following connections into consideration:

Polyoxyethylene sorbitol oleate laurate, polyoxyethylene sorbitol hexaoleate, polyoxyethylene sorbitol oleate laurate, polyoxyethylene sorbitol lanolin derivative, polyoxyethylene sorbitol, polyoxyethylene sorbitol laurate, polyoxyethylene sorbitol propylene oleate.
The aforementioned sorbitan and sorbitol surfactants can - z.
