Der zwischen den Stacheln 3 befindliehe Tabak gelangt hinter der Kämmwalze in den Bereich der rascher als das Band laufenden Streifwalze 6, welche den Tabak vom Bande 2 auf das zweite Stachelband 7 befördert, welches sich in der angedeuteten Pfeilrichtung bewegt. Das Band 7 führt den Tabak wiederum unter einer gegenläufigen Kämmwalze 8 hindurch nach einer Abstreifwalze 9, welche ihn in den zum Förderbande führenden Trichter 10 hineinbringt. Mit der Kämmwalze 8 wirkt ebenfalls eine Reinigungswalze 11 zusammen. In dem von den beiden Stachelbändern 2 und 7 und der Kämmwalze 8 gebildeten Raum 12 wird sich der Tabak stauen. Dieser überschüssige Tabak wird nun von dem Stachelband 2, sowie er eine gewisse Menge übersteigt, mitgenommen und wieder in den Tabakbehälter 1 zurückgeführt.
