Seitlich an jedem der Abteile A, B, C, D sind schmale Fenster f angebracht, um erkennen zu lassen, ob Briefschaften enthalten sind. Die einzelnen Briefkasten sind an der rechten Unterkante mit einem kleinen Drehbolzen d versehen, der sich in einem dreiviertel geschlossenen Lager h bewegt und nach dem Herausdrehen des Bolzens aus dem Verschlußloch I das Umlegen des Kastens ermöglicht. Aus dem nunmehr freihängenden Kasten können die Briefschaften nach Öffnen einer sonst verdeckten Klappe k herausgenommen werden. Das Fach wird nach der Entleerung in seine senkrechte Lage zurückgehoben und durch den Schlüssel der Bolzen 5 in das Verschlußloch I hineingedreht, wodurch ein Umlegen des Kastens durch Unbefugte ausgeschlossen ist.Narrow windows f are attached to the side of each of the compartments A, B, C, D to show whether letters are included.
