Ein Relais R₅ bewirkt durch Öffnung seines Kontaktes 9, daß sich während der Verbindung einer Nebenstelle mit der Amtsleitung A keine der übrigen Nebenstellen an die Amtsleitung anschalten kann. Gleichfalls bewirkt R₅ durch seinen Kontakt 11 die Einschaltung der Besetztzeichen S₁, S₂ der Amtsleitung A. H₁, H₂ sind der Überwachungsstelle U zugeordnete Signalschalter, welche durch Einschaltung besondere Signalgeber W₁ oder W₂ auf der Nebenstelle zum Ertönen bringen. Hat nun beispielsweise N₂ Verbindung mit der Amtsleitung A gesucht, so kommt folgender Stromfluß zustande: E₃,15, A₂, W₃, 9, B nach E_A. Hierdurch wird nun das Relais R₂ zum Ansprechen gebracht. R₂ schließt die Kontakte 3,4 und legt dadurch N₂ an die Amtsleitung A. Gleichzeitig wird auch der Kontakt 13 geschlossen, so daß R₂ durch einen Stromfluß von E₃, R₁, w_it 13, R₅, B nach £₄ erregt gehalten und andererseits auch R₆ erregt wird. R₆ öffnet 9 und schließt 10 und 11. Schaltet sich nun während der Dauer des Gespräches von N₂ mit A die Nebenstelle N₁ ein, so kann ein Ansprechen des Amtsleitungsrelais R₁ nicht erfolgen, weil durch Öffnung von 9 bei R₆ die Batterie B abgeschaltet ist. Es würde also nunmehr nur folgender Stromweg möglich sein und zustande kommen: E₁,14, k_v R₃,10 bei R₅, B nach E₄, was ein Ansprechen von R₃ und damit das Schließen von 5 und 6 zur Folge hätte.
