Der Brenner besteht in der Hauptsache aus dem im Boden des Bassins festgelötheten Brandrohr
b und dem Dochtmantel a. Letzterer läfst sich mit dem daran gelötheten Teller abnehmen
und wird durch Bajonnetverschlufs bei ζ an dem Bassin festgehalten. Das Auf- und Niederschieben
des Dochtes geschieht durch den Hebel c, dessen Verbindungsstange d Führung erhält
durch die unten im Bassin festgelöthete Röhre e, welche wieder durch eine an der Verbindungsstange
mit dem Dochtring g angelöthete Röhre/ umschlossen ist, um das Durchziehen
des Petroleums zu verhindern, h ist eine Brandscheibe zur Vertheilung der Flamme. Soll der
Docht eingezogen werden, so nimmt man den Dochtmantel ab, streift den Docht über das
Brandrohr in das Bassin hinein, und zwar so weit, dafs er mit demselben oben abschneidet,
und bindet ihn mit einem Faden an dem Dochtring g fest. Nun läfst sich der Docht mittelst
