Zum Schalten der Erregerwicklungen von Wechselstrom- oder Drehstrommotoren sowie
von Transformatoren verwendet man mit Vorteil die sogenannten Schutzschalter zum Vermeiden
von Überspannungen und ihren Folgen. Wie bekannt, wird durch derartige Schutzschalter den Wicklungen vorübei"gehend
ein Dämpfungswiderstand vorgeschaltet.
Es zeigt sich nun, daß bei nicht gleichzeitigem Schließen und öffnen der Kontakte
des Schalters die Schutzwirkung des Dämpfungswiderstandes versagt. Denn in diesem Falle
durchläuft beim Beginn des Schaltens nur der verhältnismäßig schwache Ladestrom derWicklung
den Widerstand, der somit einen genügenden Spannungsabfall und damit eine genügende
Dämpfung nicht herbeizuführen vermag.
