Description
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the drain line is designed as an overflow pipe and a suction pipe is provided in the container, which is connected to a supply line leading from the tank to the pump and its The suction port in the container is below the edge of the overflow pipe. The response time the safety device is through the arrangement of the suction pipe in the container adjustable. The closer the end of the suction pipe is to the edge of the overflow pipe is, the shorter the response time of the device. To switch off, however the device even with the usual small operating fluctuations in the retrograde To avoid the amount of oil, it is necessary that the end of the suction pipe always below the edge of the overflow pipe. In the suction pipe is advantageously a Control element for adjusting the amount sucked out of the container into the flow line Amount of liquid arranged. An adjustment handle of the control element protrudes from the Container. The return line expediently ends just above the floor of the container mounted vertically on the storage tank.
The feed line advantageously leads through the container and inside the same, the overflow pipe encloses a large part of the length of the Supply line.
The transition from the intake pipe to the flow line is expedient inside the container, so that the safety device is a compact structural unit forms, from which only the adjustment handle of the control member is led out. The safety device consists largely of mechanical parts, so that no electrical supply lines and circles are required, which are significant compared to mechanical parts are more prone to failure and require more frequent maintenance.
The present invention is illustrated with reference to the drawing Embodiment explained in more detail. It shows F i g. 1 in a schematic representation a longitudinal section of the device according to the invention and FIG. 2 a principle drawing a burner installation with an external underground tank.
A safety device 10 has a container 12 through One feed line 14 of a two-line installation from a storage tank 32 to a pump 30 through it. The device 10 is vertical on the tank cap put on. Most of the flow line 14 in the interior of the container 12 surrounds an overflow pipe 18, which together with the flow line 14 into the interior of the Tanks 32 is performed. A return line 16 ends just above the bottom of the Container 12. In the interior of the container 12, a suction pipe 26 is also provided, which opens into the flow line 14. A control element 22 is arranged in the intake pipe 26 and protrudes from the container 12 with an adjusting handle 24. With the help of the regulating organ 22, the flow cross section within the intake pipe 26 can be changed and thus the amount of liquid sucked into the flow line 14 can be adjusted. the Pipe cross-sections of the overflow pipe and the suction pipe depend on the operating conditions of the entire system and are dimensioned in such a way that the flow from the return line into the container Inflowing amount of liquid through the overflow and suction pipe at the same time flows off again. It is thereby achieved that a fill level 20 is in the container 12 at the level of the edge of the overflow pipe 18. Now occurs, for example If there is a break or a leak in the return line 16, less fluid flows to than flows through the overflow pipe 18 and the suction pipe 26. This means, that the level 20 is reduced to a lower level 20 a who sinks at the height the suction opening of the pipe 26 is located. When the lower level is reached 20 a, air is sucked through the suction pipe 26 into the flow line 14, which to the pump 30, which supplies a burner 28. Because of the air sucked in In the pump 30 and in the burner 28 a lack of oil occurs, the flame goes out in the burner 28, which is registered via a photocell. This delivers an interfering signal, which switches off the pump 30 and thus the entire system.
In Fig. 2 is a schematic of a burner installation with a heating oil charge shown, in which an external underground tank is provided as the storage tank 32. It is a two-line installation with the flow line 14 to the Oil burner pump 30 and the return line 16, as already described above - opens into the safety device 10. The tank 32 is outside the building and the lines 14 and 16 are led through a building wall 38. The tank 32 is accessible from above through a shaft, so that after removing a cover plate a filler neck 34 can be connected to a tank truck line.
Shut-off valves 36 are in the lines immediately upstream of the pump 30 14 and 16 provided. The oil burner pump 30 has two pairs of gears, one of which the first provides the suction power for the flow line 14 and the heating oil in an intermediate chamber presses, from which the second gear pair removes the oil and compresses it pushes into the burner 28.
The excess fuel oil is through the return line 16 directly is pushed back into the device 10 and flows from this into the tank 32.
The present invention has the advantage that at Occurrence of a break or a leak in the return line 16 the level 20 drops in the container 12, so that air through the flow line 14 into the burner 28 is sucked in, whereby it switches to malfunction and the entire system is shut down. It is thus largely the same as in a conventional two-line burner installation existing facilities, such as pump and burner as well as supply and return lines used which only passed through the safety device according to the invention become or flow into them. The safety device itself can be in simpler Way to be mounted on the storage tank. Furthermore it is possible without expensive Modifications of the safety device according to the invention for each already created Retrofitting the two-line system. Another advantage is given by that with the help of the control member 22, which is easily accessible, the setting at any time the device 10 can be adapted to changed operating conditions.
The only requirement for the application of the safety device is that the burner used is common with modern fuel oil burners is, goes into disturbance when air enters.
