* Zusatz zum Patente 202181 vom 11. Juli 1906.* Addition to patent 202181 of July 11, 1906.
Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 5. Juli 1908 ab. Längste Dauer: 10. Juli 1921.Patented in the German Empire on July 5, 1908. Longest duration: July 10, 1921.
The invention aims at a further embodiment of the carburizing device according to the Main patent and relates to a device for atomizing and evaporating liquids, through which a very fine distribution of the liquid is obtained and a complete Evaporation is made possible. The apparatus is capable of an intimate mixture of air or other gas and steam in any desired ratio. To One embodiment of the invention is a number of capillary tubes made of glass, steel or other appropriate material of reasonable length is used. Each of these Tubes are bent at right angles at one point along their length, and a number the tube bent in this way is arranged around an axis so that upwards to to the bend several tubes lie next to each other and the bent parts radiate extend from the axis in a plane perpendicular to the same. The axis can be arranged vertically; the lower ends of the tubes are submerged the surface of the liquid to be atomized, which is advantageous on a more or less constant height is maintained. Due to the capillary nature of the tubes, the Liquid in each rise to a certain height, the group of tubes is caused to to rotate about the vertical axis, and this rotation causes the liquid to radiate out from the open ends of the extending parts of the pipes is hurled into the surrounding space in an extremely fine jet. The effect takes place instead, regardless of whether the capillary height of the liquid when the tubes are at rest, is below or above the bend. In the latter case, however, the effect is quicker, and more liquid is evaporated in a given time. That way you can the atomization ratio of the liquid by changing the surface of the liquid, into which the pipes are immersed, and changed by changing the rotational speed will. It can be seen that every liquid is a hair tube of a particular bore required to give the best results.

Im vorliegenden Falle sind die Röhren a, a aus Glas hergestellt und in rechten Winkeln gebogen. Diese Glasröhren sind auf oder an einem Träger b aus Zelluloid, Metall, Holz oder anderem, von der Flüssigkeit nicht beeinflußtem Material befestigt und so angeordnet, daß die wagerechten Schenkel radial vonIn the present case, the tubes a, a are made of glass and bent at right angles. These glass tubes are attached to or on a support b made of celluloid, metal, wood or other material not influenced by the liquid and are arranged so that the horizontal legs are radially from
The vertical legs are enclosed in a vertical tube c which is rigidly attached to the carrier. The axis d is also rigidly attached to the support by an arm e or other means, goes down centrally through the vertical tube and is provided with bearings on which the whole rotates freely.
Fig. 3 shows the atomizer in the vaporization chamber of a carburator for internal combustion engines. The vertical legs of the tubes α, α are surrounded by a tube / which is at the bottom. is closed by the carrier b , which carries the rows of capillaries and is open at the top, the whole being rotatably mounted between two tip bearings g and h. The liquid to be atomized is introduced into the tube f from above by a suitable means through a tube i and can be kept in the same at a constant level by a feed float or other similar device. Rotation is given to the apparatus mechanically or, as shown in the drawing, by enclosing it in a cylindrical housing /, providing the support with blades k, siren holes or turbine blades, and a flow of air or other gas in and out of the cylinder j goes.
From the above it appears that the invention is mainly for atomizing Hydrocarbons for internal combustion engines is suitable, if the corresponding Apparatus which carries tubes and is rotatably arranged is used in the carburator and is thereby set in rotation is that either the carrier as a turbine as described above, which by the is moved by the suction of the machine caused air flow, formed or with a rotating part of the machine by a belt, a power unit or other Means is engaged. The invention is also for atomizing liquids Suitable for ovens and the like if the apparatus is mechanically or by Injecting steam under pressure or rotating steam and air. The apparatus can also be placed in a jacketed cylinder or in another Chamber are included, which are provided with means that the chamber hot or keep it cold.
