Die Bandage wird gebildet aus einem langen, gurtartigen Bande von elastischer Webeverbindung, mit oder ohne Einlage von Gummifäden, Federn etc. An beiden Leistenkanten des Gurtbandes α sind der ganzen Länge nach Hohlräume e ausgespart, durch welche Schnüre, Sehnen etc. g g^J von grofser Festigkeit, aber geringer Elasticität bezw. Ausdehnbarkeit gezogen sind, deren Enden an den abgerundeten und eingefafsten Gurtenden hervortreten, Fig. 2, und entweder in einem Knoten mit einander vereinigt werden oder durch ein mit Federn, Schrauben, Klemmen oder anderen geeigneten Festhaltvorrichtungen versehenes Schlofs f, welches im übrigen eine Prolongation der Sehnen zuläfst, genommen sind. Der stete Gebrauch würde indessen der Hosenträgerbandage schnell die für Verbandszwecke wichtigen elastischen und gleichmäfsigen Eigenschaften rauben. Deshalb sind die nicht dehnbaren Sehnen g g^x der ganzen Länge nach eingefügt. Sie begrenzen die Inanspruchnahme der Ausdehnung beim Tragen bei beliebigen Punkten derselben, je nachdem man die Enden von g g¹ in gröfserer oder geringerer Länge von ihrem Austrittspunkt aus α durch Knoten oder im Schlofs/befestigt. Es sei bemerkt, dafs an Stelle der eingewirkten Hohlräume e für die Sehnen auch einzelne Oesen dafür an dem Gurt befestigt werden können. Die Sehnen reguliren also die Inanspruchnahme der Elasticität der Gurte. Bei Verwendung der Gurte als Verbandmaterial aber, Fig. 3, bieten sie Mittel, um die ganze Bandage noch extra zu befestigen und vor dem Verschieben zu sichern, im übrigen zwischen den Leisten Verbandmaterial wulstartig aufzunehmen und fest einzulegen.Usually this bandage can be worn as a brace.
