Abstract

A flow duct includes a riser shaft (2) and drop shaft (3) which admit the glass melt to be refined and guide the refined glass melt to/from a horizontal refining section respectively. The horizontal refining section is formed, such that the glass melt flow rate near bottom of the glass melt is higher over the lengthwise portion of the refining section corresponding to flow rate in opening (5).
