Abstract
The base reflex tube has a circular, oval or polygonal cross-section and straight (6.1) or trumpet-shaped (6.2) ends for use in a bass reflex-loudspeaker box. The relevant inner tube (6.3) for Helmholtz resonance tuning is perforated partially or on its entire length and periphery by round holes or those of other cross-sections and a second outer tube (6.4) encloses the inner tube with spacing. The hollow space (6.5) between the inner and outer tubes is completely or partly filled with sound-absorbing insulating material, such as needle felt, acoustic foam, glass wool or similar material. The inner tube is entirely or partly produced from sound-absorbing material which is shape-stable e.g. formed needle felt, acoustic foam or similar.
