Abstract

A thermal insulation system has a flat strip of insulating material sufficiently wide to wrap around a pipe, and with the butting edges sloped to lengthen the thermal path from the pipe to the outside. The butting edges are fitted with double sided adhesive tape with one edge having an overlap of tape to secure to the pipe, and to form a grip for the other edge of the strip. In this way a snug fit is ensured with a reduced thermal loss. The prepared insulating strip has the exposed parts of the self adhesive strip protected by removable foil.

Claims (4)

1. Rohrisolierungselement mit einem Körper (12) aus Isoliermaterial, der zwei parallel zueinander angeordnete Oberflächen (14, 16) und Stirnseiten (18, 20) aufweist, wobei
  • - eine erste Stirnseite (20) eine in einem ersten spitzen Winkel (α) zu einer ersten Oberfläche (16) verlaufende erste Stirnfläche (22) und eine zweite Stirnseite (18) eine in einem zweiten spitzen Winkel (β) zu einer zweiten Oberfläche (14) verlaufende zweite Stirnfläche (24) aufweist, und
  • - auf wenigstens der ersten Stirnfläche (22) ein erster Doppelklebebandab­ schnitt (26) aufgeklebt ist und angrenzend an die erste Stirnseite (22) ein zweiter Doppelklebebandabschnitt (30) auf die erste Oberfläche (16) aufge­ klebt ist, wobei die erste Oberfläche (16) zur Anlage auf einem Rohr (50) dient,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sich ein Erstreckungsabschnitt (28, 32) des ersten und/oder des zweiten Doppelklebebandabschnitts (26, 30) über den Scheitel (34) des ersten spitzen Winkels (α) hinaus erstreckt.
