Abstract

An air-bleed valve promotes the removal of air from medial infusion fluids. The air-bleed valve has a housing (2) and a cap (4), a fluid inlet fitting (10), and a base section (6) with an outlet fitting (60). A regulator controls the liquid volume throughput. The regulator has a first (7) shut-off valve with first aperture (8) and a second shut-off valve (13) with a second aperture (18), operating in opposite directions around a common axis (3). The apertures are both eccentric with respect to the axis of rotation. The first aperture is of larger diameter (d) than the second. The mid-point of the first aperture is at a smaller distance (a) from the axis of rotation than the mid-point in the second aperture.

Claims (10)

1.
