Abstract

Description

The present innovation claims protection for an assembly aid for a furniture connector according to the generic term of claim 1 and claim 2.

A furniture connector is a connecting fitting or carcass connector that is used in furniture construction. Furniture connectors are used to connect boards to form a carcass or strips to form a frame.

For example, the company Lamello AG offers a removable furniture connector called Clamex P-14. The company Lamello AG also offers a self-tightening connector called Tenso P14. The furniture connectors have an almost half elliptical shape and are always installed in pairs.

For this purpose, a first furniture connector is inserted into a first profile groove of a first panel element and a second furniture connector is inserted into a second profile groove of a second panel element. The furniture connectors are inserted into the circular profile groove with the curve first, so that the straight line of the semicircle is either at the same height as or slightly offset from the panel surface of the panel element. Preferably, the two interconnected furniture connectors form an elliptical shape, whereby the two congruent semi-ellipses can touch each other as much as possible in the area of the straight line.

In the Clamex P14, the first furniture connector has a pivoting, profiled lever, which engages in a profiled groove provided for this purpose in the second furniture connector. By engaging the profiled lever in the groove, a removable connection is achieved between the two furniture connectors and thus between the two panel elements.

The Tenso P14 is a self-tightening connector that is used, for example, to glue two panel elements together. The Tenso P14 is also used in pairs, with the first furniture connector having a protruding, elastically designed clamping element that engages in a profiled groove of a second furniture connector. The clamping force of the clamping element creates a firm connection between the two panel elements.

Both connectors can be inserted into a semicircular profile groove (e.g. P-groove) of a panel element. Such a profile groove is produced, for example, with a CNC groove cutter, disc cutter or contour cutter. After the groove has been produced, the furniture connector is pushed into the profile groove and anchored, preferably without any connecting material, i.e. without adhesive or screws.

Reference is also made to the publication CN 201190711 Y which discloses such a connecting device.

Although the connecting device can be installed without tools, it must be pushed into the profile groove by hand, e.g. with a thumb, and possibly with a lot of force. Pushing in several connectors by hand can therefore be very painful, as the surfaces of the fingers are not suitable for such a load.

The use of a screwdriver is not recommended as there is a risk that the screwdriver will slip and damage the adjacent plate surface.

The aim of this innovation is to provide an assembly aid with which such a furniture connector can be more easily mounted in the profile groove, while at the same time ensuring that the connector is correctly aligned with the panel element.

To solve the problem posed, the innovation is characterized by the technical teaching of claim 1 and claim 2.

The essential feature of the innovation is that an assembly aid is used for the assembly of a furniture connector, whereby the assembly aid has a U-shaped web with a main support and two uprights arranged at a distance from each other, and that a support with a spherical support surface for a human hand is arranged on the main support.

In a preferred embodiment, the assembly aid is used to assemble a furniture connector in a profile groove in a panel element, the furniture connector having a substantially half-elliptical shape and two spaced-apart depressions in the area of the straight surface. The assembly aid has a U-shaped web with a main support and two uprights arranged at a distance from one another, each of which has a positioning pin, at least one positioning pin engaging positively in at least one depression of the furniture connector for assembling the furniture connector and a support with a spherical support surface for a human hand being arranged on the main support.

In a second preferred embodiment, the assembly aid has a U-shaped web with a main support and two uprights arranged at a distance from one another, on each of which there is a positioning pin, wherein for the assembly of the furniture connector the two positioning pins engage in a form-fitting manner in two recesses in the furniture connector and a support with a spherical support surface for a human hand is arranged on the main support.

By engaging the positioning pins in the existing recesses of the furniture connector, a positive connection is achieved between the assembly aid and the furniture connector, whereby the support surface of the assembly aid transfers sufficient and gentle force from the palm of the hand (the human hand) to the furniture connector. This means that the furniture connector can be inserted and aligned relatively easily in the profile groove of the panel element with the help of the assembly aid.

The assembly aid generally has a U-shape with a main support and two spaced uprights. The main support is thus designed as the base leg and the two spaced uprights as the side legs. Instead of the term main support, the term base leg can also be used and instead of the term upright, the term side leg can also be used.

A countersink is a recess, hole or the like into which the positioning pins of the assembly aid can engage.

The furniture connectors, in particular the Clamex P14 and Tenso P14 furniture connectors from Lamello AG, have two through holes arranged at a distance from each other, each with a countersink for a screw head. The holes can also be used to fix the furniture connector with screws within the profile groove. The new assembly aid now uses these two countersinks in the furniture connector to install the furniture connector in the profile groove.

Preferably, the positioning pins and the countersinks of the furniture connector have the same or a similar shape. The assembly aid according to the innovation is thus adapted to the shape, spacing and size of the countersinks of the furniture connector, whereby a positive connection is achieved between the assembly aid and the furniture connector.

There is therefore a key-lock principle between the assembly aid and the furniture connector, in particular between the positioning pins of the assembly aid and the recesses of the furniture connector.

The assembly aid is preferably made of a plastic, such as a glass fiber reinforced plastic or a polyamide. However, another material can also be used for the assembly aid, such as metal or wood.

A panel element is understood to be, for example, a chipboard, an MDF board, a multiplex board, a softwood board, a hardwood board or the like. However, panel elements made of other materials such as wood, plastic, stone or the like are also possible.

The support surface is ergonomically shaped so that sufficient pressure is achieved with only a small amount of force when assembling the furniture connector. The support surface of the assembly aid therefore serves as a force transmission surface. The support surface is preferably convex or concave and allows the ball of the hand to rest on it.

In a preferred embodiment, the support surface is arranged symmetrically between the two uprights.

In a further preferred embodiment, the support surface is arranged asymmetrically on the main support. This means that the support surface is located in the area of one of the two uprights. This type of arrangement of the support surface has proven to be advantageous, as it allows a pressure force to be exerted on the furniture connector better and in a more targeted manner during the assembly process.

In a further preferred embodiment, two additional stop surfaces are provided in the area of the ends of the uprights. The stop surfaces are used to align the furniture connector with the surface of the panel element during assembly. A first stop surface is located in the area of the front positioning pin and a second stop surface is located in the area of the rear positioning pin. The furniture connector is always correctly installed in the profile groove when at least one stop surface rests on the surface of the panel element.

Normally, during assembly, the two positioning pins of the assembly aid are inserted into the respective recess of the furniture connector. In this case, the longitudinal axis of the furniture connector is the same as the longitudinal axis of the assembly aid.

In a further preferred embodiment, the assembly aid is rotated by 90° to assemble the furniture connector. The longitudinal axis of the assembly aid is thus rotated relative to the longitudinal axis of the furniture connector. This type of arrangement of the assembly aid is always used when there is insufficient installation space for the furniture connector. In this case, only the front positioning pin of the assembly aid is inserted into the front recess of the furniture connector. The furniture connector is then aligned within the profile groove using the rear stop surface relative to the surface of the panel element.

The subject matter of the present innovation arises not only from the subject matter of the individual claims, but also from the combination of the individual claims with one another.

With the 1 the assembly aid 1 according to the innovation is shown. The assembly aid 1 essentially consists of a U-shaped web 6 and a support surface 8 for a human hand. The U-shaped web 6 has a main support 20 on which two uprights 21, 22 are arranged at a distance from one another. At the front end of the upright 21 there is a first, vertically protruding positioning pin 2 and a stop surface 5. At the end of the upright 22 there is a second positioning pin 3 with an associated stop surface 4. The stop surfaces 4 and 5 serve to horizontally align the furniture connector 12 with respect to a panel element 11.

On the main support 20 of the web 6 there is also a support 7 with a support surface 8. The support 7 and the support surface 8 serve to support the ball of a human hand. In order to generate a good pressure force from the support surface 8 and the support 7, this has additional ribs 10 with which a connection between the web 6 and the support surface 8 is achieved.

The web 6 is preferably U-shaped and has a clearance 9 in the middle area for possible clamping elements of the furniture connector 12. Due to the clearance 9, there is only contact via the positioning pins 2, 3 during assembly of the furniture connector 12.

9 shows a section of the assembly process of the furniture connector 12 with the help of the assembly aid 1. First, the furniture connector 12 is placed on the profile groove 16 of the plate element 11. The next step is to position the assembly aid 1 opposite the furniture connector 12, with the two positioning pins 2 and 3 being inserted into the recesses 17 and 18 provided for this purpose in the furniture connector 12. Subsequently, a pressure force is generated on the support surface 8 of the assembly aid 1 with the help of the palm of the hand, which is transferred to the furniture connector 12 via the web 6 and the positioning pins 2 and 3, whereby the furniture connector is pushed into the profile groove 16 in the radial direction in the direction of the arrow 19. The pressure force or assembly takes place until the stop surface 4 rests on the plate surface 14, whereby a correct installation position of the furniture connector 12 in the profile groove 16 of the plate element 11 is achieved.

With the 10 and 11 another application of the assembly aid 1 is shown. The assembly aid 1 is arranged here transversely to the longitudinal axis of the furniture connector 12, with only the front positioning pin 2 engaging in the recess 17 of the connector 12 provided for this purpose. The assembly aid 1 is thus aligned transversely to the longitudinal axis of the furniture connector 12. The present embodiment is always useful when there is only a small installation space for the furniture connector 12, but the assembly aid 1 is still to be used.
