Die Besonderheit des menschlichen Körpers besteht nun darin, dass durch nasse Füße bzw. nasse Beine ein sogenannter Kühleffekt entsteht. Dabei muss aber beachtet werden, dass das Anziehen von wärmenden Strümpfen oder ähnlichem uneffektiv bzw. schwer zu händeln ist, da diese nur schwer über den nassen Fuß gezogen werden können. Recherchen ergaben, dass es beispielsweise einen Fußwärmer gibt, der mit der ganzen Form über den Fuß gezogen und am hinteren Teil des Fußes mit einem Klettverschluss befestigt wird. Dieser ist für Saunagänge ungeeignet, da er sehr unbequem ist und vorranging zur Erwärmung der Füße bei Fuß- und Beinbrüchen genutzt wird. Des Weiteren gibt es Überschuhe aus dem Sportbereich, die als Überschuhe zur Wärmung und Isolation bei Kälte und Nässe zum Schutz der Sportschuhe vorgestellt werden (bspw. der Firmen GripGrab® und GORE®. Auch diese sind für Saunabesuche ungeeignet.
