The present invention is directed to a device for placing an object.

Humans have also developed a vast number of pieces of furniture for placing objects. Tables of the most varied shapes and specializations, sideboards, shelves are just examples of generic terms.

Independent of this, it is impossible to imagine civilization without electricity. Electrical devices make life easier for us in almost every context. From the alarm clock to the electric toothbrush, from the lamp to the radio, from the mobile phone to the remote control for the, electric, garage door, they are daily companions.

Such devices usually have a power supply by means of a cable that can be plugged into a mains plug or a rechargeable battery that is refilled in a charging station. "Mains plugs" are mostly wall sockets (unless a power strip with extension cord is involved). These are regularly (and standardized) built into a (mostly vertical) wall in such a way that an electrical connector, inserted there, has contact pins that are horizontally and horizontally next to one another or vertically one above the other, as the intended arrangement also within the meaning of this invention.

For electrical devices, it has been shown to be widespread in everyday life that power supply cables lead visibly and sometimes in an obstructive manner to the actual device, which is placed on a piece of furniture, for example.

The present invention is based on the object of creating a device for placing an object which reduces this disadvantage. This object is achieved by a device with the features of claim 1. Preferred configurations are given in the subclaims.

A device according to the invention for placing an object has a table top or, more generally, a floor space that is horizontal in the intended arrangement. More precisely, the floor space is supported by a base with an electrical plug, which is arranged in such a way that it - plugged into a power supply wall socket with horizontal and in particular horizontally side by side contact pins as the intended arrangement - supports the floor space in such a way that it is arranged horizontally . Since some wall sockets are also mounted in such a way that the contact holes are not arranged horizontally next to one another, but vertically one above the other, the electrical plug of the base, which supports the floor space, can be "twisted" so that it - plugged into a power supply wall socket with horizontal, but vertically one above the other, oriented contact pins - as a proper arrangement supports the floor space in such a way that it is arranged horizontally. In order to be set up for both orientations (and also contact bores arranged diagonally next to and one above the other) and still set up the intended arrangement in which the floor space is supported so that it is arranged horizontally, the plug of the device can also (to axis perpendicular to its contact pins) so that it can be plugged into any wall socket with any orientation and still allow the intended arrangement with a horizontal footprint. The support device is particularly preferably not a second plug: there are wall plug strips with two or more wall sockets. But more common these are arranged horizontally next to each other and not vertically on top of each other. Thus, a device according to the invention with a second connector as a support device has the disadvantage of only functioning on vertical wall connector strips. This is because the second connector as a support device under the first (at a distance that conforms to the standard) requires this. Then for such vertical wall connector strips (or those with, for example, a square arrangement of four connectors, or several side by side in pairs, one above the other), however, it is also a possible embodiment of the device according to the invention to have a second connector as a support device.

Particularly preferably, however, the support device has at least one (preferably two) horizontally (or partially horizontally as somehow inclined or curved) displaceable support point. This can preferably be locked in a form-fitting manner, for example by means of a thread. This is particularly simple and preferably (at least) one threaded pin which is horizontal in the intended arrangement, which can be screwed out of the device and back into it - and whose head or end serves as a support point. The support point can have a cushion or a cap, for example made of felt or in particular soft plastic.

The device preferably comprises a housing. In the intended arrangement, the footprint particularly preferably forms the horizontal top of a housing. The plug and at least a part of the support device is then preferably located on the rear of the housing (facing the wall socket). The at least one socket is then preferably arranged in a wall directed to the side, forwards and / or downwards. And the line connection between the plug and the at least one socket is then preferably accommodated in the housing.
